Old Skype Malfunction

Hey there. I'll make it quick;

does any of you have a working skype version older than 5.10 (5.10.0.116 to be exact)?

It seem Microsoft killed all prior versions which were still able to use html codes, because of 'security issues'. And one day my skype 4.2 wouldn't log in anymore. And so I was forced to update. Q_Q

Yeah, it took me some month until I got over that huge loss and finally updated (to this crappy 6.10). This was also the reason for my absence.

I stopped using Skype 2 years ago. The program is very crappy, badly optimized, stutters, freezes, crashes, loads slow, eats ram memory more than a game, and the list can continue.
I know everyone around here uses it but I'm not going to install it again anytime soon.
Even If I have problems with factions who tell me again and again to install it and use it....I still don't use it. I'm sorry. There are many other applications which are ten times better than Skype.

I do! 4.2.0.187 (I think that's the one, anyhow - I'm using the last 4.x version) is still working just fine for me. Unless Microsoft has decided to make it not work over the last few hours that I've spent away from my desktop, which I severely doubt. Sorry to hear that yours doesn't work any more - I don't think that it is due to a change to Skype that Microsoft has made recently, though. My install still working would suggest otherwise, at least.

PS: I'm using it under 64-bit W7, by the way.

I've also been having problems with Skype. It was running fine for a while but then it started to crash when loading. It doesn't do that now and I can get to the chat screen, but messages fail to be delivered. So likewise, I'm also absent from Skype at this time.

I've been using version 3.8.0.115 which is pretty old to say the least, because the newest one would never fully load without crashing so I resorted to an old back-up I have.
