Hello!
I am not sure where i have seen it since i am new on forum and game, but i am pretty sure that (or at least for me it should), or at least i'm under the impression that players should choose a proper name takingin consideration Faction/ID.
It doesn't make any senseto see a Rheinland character named for i.e. John.Saviour, likewise seeing constantly players login and relogging withcompletely out game context nicks. For i.e, Miaou and Hmmm does not seem like a game related or even faction unless you're a kitty from Kitty System which no one knows whereabouts.
And just now i saw a guy on server called ass_lp, what tha...!??!
I don't know why, but it hurts my eyes to see them login, as for me, even when i create temporary chars to colect Codenamesi give them appropriated names for faction/id, try it too.
I am not the Virgin Mary, but you are not as well...

That is correct, a lot of people have foolish names, but quite a few of those are chosen with care and have a story to them if you dive into the roleplay - granted, others dont. I met ass_lp as well, and I suppose he is up for a sanction/namechange if someone reported it.
About names rooted in cultures other than the houses the characters belong to (like your Rheinland John.Saviour), I find that only natural. Given the scope of time and the level of mobility in Sirius (everyone can get access to space travel), it makes perfect sense that language- and cultural groups get mixed a lot. In fact we ought to have a lot more Rheinland "John.Saviours" if we were aiming at realism. I guess it comes down to a matter of personal preference.
Some people like to play at being cats or dogs or foxes, often with female human attributes which is pretty weird if you ask me, but if it's not your cup of tea you are always welcome to ignore their roleplay and carry on with your own thing.
You quickly learn that you have to navigate around Discovery and actively look for the roleplay that suits you, and that you have to filter a whole lot of non(sensical)-rp out. It is your playground, and ultimately it is what you make of it, so make sure to enjoy yourself doing your own thing, and forget about what other people are doing if you don't like it.
I am more surprised about the sudden rise in _PL and _CZ player activity.

Quite likely that's a bank account of "Miaou" here on the forums.
It'd be nice if everyone chose names that fit into the roleplay environment, but a substantial part of the community simply doesn't care that much about roleplay to begin with.
You are right that some people are crazy and like trolling via name. On the other hand, I don´t see problem with John Saviour as Rheinland character. Not all Rheinlanders must be Helmuts or Jörgs. For example he may be defector from Liberty, or person with Bretonian origin who took job in Rheinland (or his parents).
So John Saviour is not problem for me. U_mad_bro? or New_please_no_kill characters are.
I suppose the whole Rogue name database is sanctionable then.

Agree with you all, and of course that example of John.Saviour might be exaggerated.

Not entirely, no, i admit pirates being called and possess odd (less common) names like 'Rough.Dog' or whatever, or 'Sam the Ripper', 'John-The.Vilan', 'The .Vilan', like a nickname for the character. It's part of their RP, after all, they're pirates.
Btw, i am not trying to teach anything to anyone, it's just that it became a bit...messed up regarding nicks.

Those tend to be somewhat amusing, at least. And you'd expect Rogues to name their ships in an unusual way.
The names that annoy me are obvious "gamertags". Would you name a merchant ship in real life "superkiller46362"? No. So don't do it ingame either, please.
