Trade in a convoy with friends then.

Even if you trade alone, there's a chance for a pirate encounter, so there's your interaction.

Guys....uh...the /restart beginner is gone....so is the /restart miner >_>

How I make most my money is pirating NPCs (killing them and selling the cargo) when the server is low on people (less then 80) you can make a shiny penny pretty fast doing that Wink

IT DOESN'T MATTER WHAT I SAID, IT MATTERS WHAT I MEANT!!!!

Or you could try a Salvager/Raba and pirate npc transports. This seems very profitable in singleplayer but I have not yet had a chance to try it in MP; the transport npcs don't spawn until the player population gets low enough.

There's no way to soften this: Disco FL is a time commitment. Only the main server has anyone playing on it, and if you don't enjoy the text-based roleplay, the lore+atmosphere, you're not going to enjoy your time here.

This is actually a great idea.

Destroying 1 transport is easily 8 million.

What transports can I destroy without angering the police? Sometimes the station/police turn hostile, other times they don't.

I'm doing this outside california station

Oh, and piracy (for profit.. if you're doing it for fun then that's a totally different story) is kind of dumb IMO. When I'm making enemies it's not going to be over a petty amount of $$. I'd rather join a faction and kill people of opposing factions rather then spend a lot of effort to try to extort someone for money that would be easier to get out of killing NPCs.

if you pirate outside a zoner base (especially if you do it within 5k), and if you subsequently dock there to escape.....

peaceful zoners may throw you out an airlock Big Grin

WHAT? What's wrong with a nice Very Heavy Fighter setup, or a bomber? If your only aim in this game is to fly a battleship, you're best leaving now, they aren't as much fun as you think.

My favorite part of this game was making money to buy a bigger trading vessel, and then making even more money.

Then I started buying fighters, bombers, and using them to pirate people (for fun, and small profit).

I now have two cruisers, but still, I mostly fly my trusty bomber as It's more fun and challenging, at least the poor little trader has a chance!

And yeah, mining NPCs is probably the quickest way, just buy a cheapo 3K ship you don't mind messing the rep up on, fit Charons, and shoot NPC cargo ships, tractor in, sell, repeat, when you get bored (and your rep is totally screwed anyway), pop a Pirate ID on and pirate people too, make em drop 50% of their cargo, and sell it.

Who says anything about escaping? >_>
But yeah even still....don't let any Zoners see ya doing that (I got my butt kicked pretty bad by one when he found out what I was doing)

If Zoner is in a cap, report him to the Navy, I was in a Zoner Cruiser, and the Navy decided to kill me RIGHT OUTSIDE THE ZONER BASE!

by "real ship" I do mean a VHF or a bomber.

And I think I have enough now, I made like 21 million (after various expenses, like buying a 2000 cargo transport to pick up pirated goods faster). I'm going to start a new char, I think I'll be a lane hacker. Any recommendations on what setup I should get?
