I remember the raids. Also I took part in many of them but I stopped after they introduce lambda and other systems within alpha and gamma. Its very hard to move caps through those asteroids. Why remodeling those systems those are already ok like omega 41, omega 11 and theta?

There are a plethora of issues with being a corsair. The raids were for me, the main one. Why go anywhere when they come to me?
If I want a fight, log on a corsair when there's a raid going on. There used to be one every hour so fighting was never an issue. Thing is, it got boring. Everyone raiding only sees their raid. Meanwhile the poor bugger at the other end sees 3, 4, 5 even. Huge cap fleets with escorts turning up for two snubs is a fine example.
There are many other issues and whilst I don't agree with everything Curios has said, he says a lot that I do and he has only scratched the surface.
Certain people poo-poo these threads but the fact that no one see's corsairs much anymore surely must be telling you something, snide comments aside.
Various corsair players have been telling you their issues for a long time and nothing got done. It just got worse. Well now, there aren't any so no need to change anything. Big Grin

My opinion is that in case of development the only things are done are those that are being screamed right at the dev's ears (and those are not always great to begin with) and not those that are really necessary.

problem with sairs as I see it is lack of such system as tau-23 as sair counterpart.
It should be sigma-19 with all those juicy gas mining spots since damn half of the server have gas miner, but nah we have pointless okinawa fields that was designed specially to be almost non-piratable, god before I can get from hogosha base to mining field, miner can fill 5ker and run away.
also new bases in sigma-13, somewhat far from lanes, especially sair one, on the other side with long long trip to gmg gas mining + sair need to have several ships to be in all places at once, because relocate ship will take lot of time with all those pointless buffer systems as lambda.
yet another problem of sigma-13 failure, most of the ore routes are not going to Rheinland.
Gas miners going to liberty or bretonia, tau miners moving stuff to liberty, and you don't want to pirate IMG convoy.... that may go to rheinland or from it.

instead they should have done, get sair base in sigma-19.. mabe left that oc in sigma-13.
remove okinawa mining fields and focus on sigma-19, or even if not.. make JH much closer from pirate base to those fields in okinawa, so sairs/oc can pirate GMG.

Well, just to point out that that is a blatant, yet weird lie posted for reasons one might only guess - i can only say that stuff like this and the mentioned "i hate sairs" miiiight be part of the problem...right?
Badmouthing for strange reasons is not making this a happier place, you guys have to realize that if you want to see sairs flying around and playing with YOU - you should treat those players like you would want to be treated yourself.( As if the Benitez had anything to do with the base you hint at or if it was the first base to protect a system, a home system at that - forcing you to fly less then 30 sec more...)

Other than that- why are so few sairs around?
- There is little to no influx of completely new players( or new sair players) and i am sure the sairs don't get "their share" because let's face it the looks aren't that good in comparison to the new flashy stuff( i believe that does count especially for new players) and the gear is not exactly easy to learn.
-for those who dug a bit deeper might find that the whole artifact stuff is no "hip" enough when they could do drugs &slaves instead
-for those interested in rp and lore development you might find that the sairs have been simply ignored be it for their input and wishes as well as how things turned out....so there is about 0 trust out there that if you roll a sair you can actually "do" things that seems so easily doable for others
-of course, being ridiculed when you voice sorrows of people does not help ( who wants to join the group the cool kids make fun of?)


-and for all of those who are not interested into newbie recruiting, tech, rp and disco politics --- this damned lambda system ?!?!?!? How could one ever dream of getting action to the sigmas by that? or by keeping sigma 13 so tiny that piracy is only doable with the fools or those overly generous and well meaning traders?

In 4.86, Corsair guns got nerfed pretty harshly
In 4.87, the star map got a lot more retarded for Corsairs
Omega 7 activity dropped as well, due to mining changes

Players aren't considering that flying in asteroid fields or simple open space for nearly 15-20 min to get some RP/PVP is fun.
At least, for PvP we have conn.

AND.... guys! Game is old (but still awesome), mod not fun anymore (sad but true), some people may not wan't to play it any longer. Haven't you thinking about?
