Doc had struck a nerve and he knew it, even if it meant being honest. He listened to her story and felt empathy toward her. This beautiful woman, in pain, and confiding in him. When she buried her face in her hands and leaned on him, his instincts could only allow him to do one thing and that was to pull her close.

"Let it out, Jaden," he said to her as he held her, "Just let it out." One hand then gave a gentle, re-assuring pat on her back as he softly spoke, "it's OK."

As she did, the story she told went through his mind. He could do much for her. He could go beyond reproductive abilities. He had the skill, the staff, equipment and organs if needed. But for now, she needed consoling. As he held her, he just took deep breath for himself.

For the next couple of minutes the bitter sounds of sobbing and sniffing pierced the once relaxing silence of the room as Jaden took up Doc's advice to let herself cry her broken, little heart out. She cried and cried and cried, the accumulation of many years of darkness and sadness bursting and overflowing from her lips and eyes in the form of unintelligible words and warm, running tears.

But the more she let herself go like that, the more her spirit wavered and the weaker her health seemed to deteriorate. Her body began to feel colder, and her sanity felt like it was slowly slipping away. The bitter nightmares, the cruel pains and injuries she's experienced first-hand, and the punishing loneliness from losing three great men in her life just felt too much for even a Corsair's constitution to pour out in one go. She felt she needed more than just a pat on the back and a few kind words to help her get through this. She felt she needed warmth. She felt she needed sanctuary. She needed... well... uhm...

In one swift motion, Jaden hopped from the water and sat perpendicularly onto Doc's laps. She quickly turned to bury her face into Doc's neck, her surprisingly-powerful arms, supple breasts and smooth-skinned body intimately wrapping themselves into him like she was molding herself into her comforter and depending on him greatly for strength. It's a good thing the water made her feel lighter, because the next few minutes she continued from where she left off, her warm tears flowing down his shoulder as her lungs heaved with every sob.

As time passed, she began to relax and her sobbing began to fade away. She found much comfort basking in Doc's body heat like a warm blanket in a cold night. Pretty soon, she was calm enough to breathe normally again. It was only then that her face blushed scarlet-red from only now realizing she was disrespectfully sitting on the lap of the leader of the TAZ... and they were both naked to boot! She lifted her head to look at Doc with the intent to apologize, only to find each others' faces only centimeters apart.

Feeling very embarrassed, she sheepishly turned away as she whispered, "Ehr... S-Senor Holliday. Don't suppose... you could share with me one of your stories for a change?" Figuring she couldn't dig her own grave any deeper even if she tried, she lovingly laid the side of her head onto Doc's shoulder, letting a palm gently rub his chest as she continued, "I did share basically my entire life's story to you already, so it seems fair you'll let me know a bit about yourself?"

Grog, wine and a shot of Coalition Vodka had pretty much left Doc oblivious to the fine line he was close to crossing with Jaden and himself naked in the pool in just about a full embrace. He had never been in the position before but for some reason, it felt......soothing. Her head resting on his shoulder, her hand rubbing his chest and resting on each other, his mind was nowhere but on her. He just let out a slow, gentle sigh around the sound of his heart beating within his chest.

"Where to begin," he thought aloud, "So much of my life is a mystery. What memories I have are a life time ago....another time....another place. How I got to Sirius I do not know."
His left hand began stroking her hair, "I once was a violent man. I had nothing to lose. If I died in a fight, well, it would have been better than the disease that ravaged my body but somehow, it only made me deadlier. It often hid the fact that I was once a proud dentist."
He took another deep breath. With her never moving, he continued telling his story as his hand continued stroking her long hair.
"I just remember a bright light on Manhattan with a group of white robed men saying that they had done it. Done what I will never know. By days end, I found myself exploring Manhattan before boarding a transport and eventually flying myself about. That's when I met Malaclypse."

Doc just smiled and gave a chuckle, "What a character he was. He took me in, explained how Eris had a purpose for me dating back long ago. He would introduce me to Gran Canaria where I fell in love with the place and made it my home. I would expand my medical knowledge beyond dentistry. Pediatrics, family practice and most recently, psychology. What I never expected was becoming a diplomat somewhere in the middle of it and administrating a great flock of people."

Doc paused and went somber, "So many people have come and gone from my life. Mal, Wyatt, my parents. I so often feel alone."
Doc then went silent as he went into thought.

Jaden lifted her eyes to look at the now-silent Doc Holliday. She closed her eyes and placed a small peck on his neck before whispering, "I guess... that makes two of us, Senor..."

The next several moments were filled with empty silence as the two paid their respects to the long departed in their own way. For the next several moments, Jaden was content to happily lie there in Doc's embrace, her eyes half-closed as she relaxed herself on his lap, listening to each others' breaths as her hand and even her breasts could feel the thumping within his slightly toned chest. The air around them began to feel a little stuffier than usual, no doubt their intimately-shared body heat was warming up the atmosphere. It didn't matter, and in fact it made Jaden feel more at ease as she curled up a little closer into Doc's caring hands.

Then an idea came to her mind. Jaden straightened up her head and looked at Doc with gentle eyes as she whispered, "Senor... Why don't we go to the deep part of the swimming pool... together? We'll submerge ourselves in the middle of the water, unmoving and holding each other tight as we let the currents take away all our pains, memories, and sense of the universe around us. It's why I love the pool very much, Senor Holliday... especially if no one else is around to disturb the water, and if we had rebreathers to last longer in the water."

She smiled to Doc, holding his right hand as she waited for his reply, ready at a moment's notice to take him there should he say yes.

Doc just listened as she spoke. He just accepted her hand in his as they sat together. He then nodded his approval and replied, his voice barely audible, "Yes, Senorita, let us do as you said."
He couldn't help himself. He was totally wrapped up in her.

Hearing that yes from Doc made Jaden's heart skip a beat. Still holding his hand, she lowered herself slowly from Doc's lap, then guided him to the far end of the pool eagerly, yet patiently. And for the first time the whole night, that voice within her that she always tried to brush off, was now beginning to shake fear into her heart. Despite this, she held fast to her (drunken) conviction and pushed on...

Soon after, they got to the point their toes couldn't even touch the pool floor without drowning their noses. Swimming the rest of the way, they soon reached the spot where the pool was at its deepest. Pulling him close to her, Jaden then turned around and spooned her back onto Doc's chest as she pulled his arms around her shoulders and hips. "Take a deep breath, Senor... and we'll lower ourselves slowly to disturb the least water as possible." After calmly drawing one last breath, the two closed their eyes and glided feet-first into the depths.

Moments later, Doc and Jaden found themselves a foot beneath the surface, their bodies free-floating in the middle of the water as if they were floating through space itself. The currents around them were completely serene, almost like they didn't exist at all, and indeed felt like the universe seemed to just disappear before their senses. She couldn't help herself as she shut her eyes again and intertwined her legs around his, blushing as she felt her smooth cheeks brush against his manly pride.

But even then, it still didn't matter... There, in the illuminated depths of Shasta's swimming pool, Jaden felt at peace, wholeheartedly accepting Doc's loving, deep embrace. It was a moment she would've wanted to pause for all time, a moment where the troubles of her life completely melted and were lost in the vastness of eternity.

He understood what she described, that feeling of complete relaxation. The weightlessness, the calm, it all made things right. Her perfect body against his only added to this. The more he got to know her, the more she stayed close, the more he found himself falling for her, something the alcohol wasn't helping.

Beneath the water, let his grip of her loose enough to run his fingers up her sides and back down again, admiring her figure. I soft smile crossed his face. They slid down towards her bottom as he admired those as well before taking her back in his embrace. Nothing else mattered at this point. He had broken a rule of medicine, never fall for a patient and he found himself unable to turn back.

Eventually, he could no longer hold his breath and slowly, he surfaced with Jaden in embrace. He opened his mouth to take another breath.

The waters around them were comfortably cold, but Jaden felt almost unbearably warm from tension that built up inside her. She had to bite her lower lip to keep herself from shivering as Doc ran his palms down her lonely, sensitive form. She cringed as his hands brushed against her sides, flinched as his fingers rubbed pleasurably on her round tush. A short stream of bubbles released from her mouth when she moaned out her ecstasy to the cosmos. His touch felt so gentle, the embrace that followed so heavenly, like an angel was shielding her from the darkness.

No... not an angel. A lover.

Jaden couldn't deny it, nor did she even want to. Her weary heart had developed a deep, intimate connection with this man... no, this gentleman whom she just met only a few hours ago. In the span of just a few hours, she and this gentleman had shared more than just medical problems. They've shared each others' troubles, shared their personal pains, their thorny pasts, and it seemed they would soon revel in their sharing of their carnal desires of the present. Would she dare to ask him what the future may hold for... wait... the future?

That's when the voice finally screamed out.

Screamed through the alcohol barrier, screamed through the lust cloud that misted over her skin. It screamed of her promise not to reveal her primal form other than to her lovers or her irredeemable foes. Screamed of the idea she was tempting a married man to commit the ultimate matrimonial sin. Screamed of the point that she herself had her own potential lover to answer and be accountable for. Screamed of the fact she was also seducing her own doctor into breaking his creed of professionalism. And screamed that she could no longer hold her breath.

The next thing she knew, she felt herself break the water's surface as Doc pulled her with him back to reality. She took the time to gasp for precious air, but the moment they caught their breaths she forcefully broke from Doc's embrace and swam to the nearest pool edge. Not even covering her face with her hands could protect her from the potent shame that weighed on her aching soul.

Jaden turned away from Doc, from the man she had gladly fallen for. Tears quickly burst from her human eye as she so suddenly sobbed out, "... I'm so sorry, Senor... So sorry... for everything... For letting the alcohol tarnish my honor... For letting it cloud my judgement... For making you break your creed... For tempting you against your wife... For being so inconsiderate of... I... I just... I can't..."

Doc's heart was still pounding, his feelings cut off by her sudden departure to the poolside. He listened to her apology, staring in shock as he did. Then, gently, he sat next to her and placed a caring hand on her shoulder. He spoke in a soft, caring tone, "You have nothing to apologize for, Jaden. You have feelings and they reach out."
He paused a moment, taking his hands and placing them out to the sides on the pool's edge, He spoke softer yet, looking straight ahead, "It should be I who apologizes. While there is no written rule about a doctor falling for a patient but....."

He looked himself over. There he was, naked in a pool with another woman, a woman whom he had fallen far. He hung his head.
"Oh Midori, oh sweet Midori, what have I done?" he asked himself out loud.
A tear fell down his face, "Gone from home for....so....long....and now this."

He then turned and looked at the sobbing Jaden, turned back and looked skyward and said in a whisper, "I've fallen for her. She needs my help."
Doc could only sit in shame and wonder, wonder if he had lost a patient. He hoped not.

A whole mix of emotions swirled around the room like a hurricane... Confusion. Shame. Sadness. Anxiety. Loneliness. Hesitance. All these thoughts went through Jaden's mind, and she had little doubt they went through Doc's mind too. It took a few moments before she could catch herself and calm down. She turned around to face Doc again, and saw him sitting on the pool's edge with his hands to his sides and his gaze pointed skywards in an attempt to plead to the universe for answers. She felt so sorry for having placed him in such a precarious position. She sat there on her spot, looking through her mind's eye as she weighed her options.

Her first instinct told her to run... to leave the poor gentleman to ponder to himself, to cut off any temptations for both of them to sin further. She shook her head, rebuking her voice for considering such a cold act. She didn't want to just leave him like that. That would just be too cruel, and it would complicate any and all future interactions they might have for the worse. Just the thought of it left a bad taste in her throat.

She looked again at Doc. She saw his eyes tearing up, his soaking-wet body paralyzed by confusion and fear. The more she looked at him, the more she wanted to reach out to him. To wrap around him and relieve him of his loneliness. To melt into his loving arms and deeply share each other's yearning essences. Blushing to herself, she quickly realized this was the alcohol and her lust talking to her. But at first glance, this didn't look too bad. It would make future interactions feel pretty awkward, and who knows what would happen if his wife found out? But at least it would be far more forgiving than to leave him hanging there, right? ... Right?

Or perhaps... she was looking at all this the wrong way. She knew they were in this awkward situation because, deep down, she admittedly wanted to be here. She knew she needed counsel, but she never expected Doc to be suffering just as much loneliness as she did, if not more. She knew she needed respite, but she never knew Doc needed it just as much. He was a doctor, yet for all his skill and abilities he too suffered internally, and it felt wrong for her not to try and help him.

Perhaps it was time Jaden returned the favor.

She closed her eyes and nudged beside him once again. With her palms neatly placed on her lap, she gently leaned onto him and softly laid her head on his shoulder, smiling as she whispered, "Senor... You've done much for me already. Gracias... And if you'll let me, I'd like... to return the favor and help you... in any way I can... I'm not afraid anymore... I don't want to just leave you here feeling bitter.

"... Why not tell me more about your precious Midori, Senor? I admit, I've heard almost nothing about her. She must be so happy to have a dedicated man such as you for a lover."
