Wondering if there is a possible map for ships, i would like to find a nice looking ship with generally fair stats.:rtfm:

Well you can get flstat, but u wont be able to view how ships look, only stats...

If you are playing on the disco server, you should choose a ship suitable to your roleplay. Not the other away around.

Rather than going for the sexiest ship available stats-wise (or any other criteria) find out which line of ships are available RP-wise to you when picking a faction.

Sadly that's more or less not covered well anywhere to my knowledge. The list posted in the forums is rather old and I'm waiting someone knowledgeable to update it.

It would very nice if the ship infocards were available in e.g. Freelancer wikipedia. Or a list of recommendable ships for factions.

If you are a freelancer, I would suggest a civilian ship. Simple ones like the Eagle or Griffin are fine, but the more exotic ones like the Homeworld designs and Stingers could be interesting.

Use the readme to find them in-game then check them out.

The name of the mod is kinda big clue to how you should go about this, ie: DISCOVER.

Translation: read the bloody readme for the stats and general locations then go and find em.

And if you want to see a ship while outside the game, use hard CMP editor. Dunno where to get it now that Lancers' reactor is down.

Well i understand about the faction, but i base what faction im choosing on the ship I like, and this mod is so large that exploring is just over whelming------> :crazy:

Well thats a backwards way of doing it.

So don't complain when the faction that owns your 'pretty lookin' ship doesn't let you fly how you like.

Sure it's big, thats the charm, you can hide away from people if you feel like it.
