Okay, so find a better way to reward good RP and official play. Problem is theres no use in sticks and no carrots to use.

Random thought, If theres a few official factions who are of the same Faction ID etc. If they are struggling prehaps maybe merging togeather might work?

to mention an already stated point.....

indies would still just make their own unofficial factions, just to still do what they want with 0 oversight.

It seems, to me at least, disco's in trouble either way. if you restrict indies, a fair few people would leave the server. if official factions die out, people would leave the server.

i get the feeling a lot of the issues plaguing disco now could have been prevented from happening by previous dev and/or admin teams

I see peoples who:
1) are complaining about not having one member and only one listed with 1h activity on the tracker due to a bug..
Really?What will that change?In some cases mentioned above will not even match the 5 active members and even if it did..that 1 week logged in a month per faction it will still be enough of a reason to disband all of official factions..
*if someone mentioned holidays as an excuse=> since most of our player base are kids/teenagers ,they have a lot more time than they did when they were at school..
2)think that limiting ships for indies are the answer
well..how did that worked out for your official time?
^ we all see the difference players logs more indies characters then tagged one(most of cases a player logs in more time than his entire faction per month)

sure there is..expanding their Zone of Influence ,not many that do so,but still..there's something for other faction leaders to think about

Paying people in factions by the hour (Note: some factions (IMG|) probably dont need this). Indies could still play, but people would be incentivised to play tagged ships.
