Yeah, that's the one that I already read a long time ago.

Carry on then. Good luck to you. Keep it interesting I suppose -- Don't make a troll-character out of it. That goes to any player actually I suppose.

My primary point is that you're using wrong combination of ship, IDs and character type. The reason you're doing that is because you can use infinite cloak and drop anything in local chat without anyone being able to do anything about it short of placing you on ignore list. That's the whole point of criticism was made there, and in my opinion - a valid one (and it's why factions adopted to not do RP in local channel while being in cloak, take the risk if you want to RP in local). Your better choice is to use a human ship for a human-looking and behaving character, and take all the risks associated of playing your RP too exposed to be blasted right away. Or decloak and then RP, but now you'll be free to be shot upon and that's the risk you have to take.

edit: ...and a non-distinguishable human-looking being is exactly infested person. That's what you actually play and should stick to. Hybrids were experimental stuff that didn't work out well, they were malformed and somewhat hideous looking creatures that had to be 'wired' up to nomad ships. Had such character back in .83-84, it eventually died. You don't get to live inside nomad ship then simply walk out of it and 'mingle' with the locals just like that.

A much better solution is to play split characters: a nomad that is physically represented by the ship that you fly, and an infested character that is what you trying to do and flying regular ship, but for all intents and purposes it to be same character, just one being itself and the other is its pawn that it uses. The issue being that you're trying to squeeze everything into one resulting in this awkward and clumsy character acting borderline trolling. Split apart so that the character and its two manifestations can be logically developed further.

If I wanted to bother people, I could do it in a light fighter in an allied or neutral faction, out of sensor range, in system chat, or just with people who I know I can beat in PvP.

I believe doing exactly that and then saying "u mad" is a very widespread thing here, among certain people.

The reason I used the cloak is because its the only way to RP as a nomad with the other side OORPly knowing you are a nomad, but with plausible denyability, or plausible attempted denial, from the side of your character that you are not a nomad, with potential for new types of RP interactions other than ***Hi I nomad and cant talk and you human now what***

As already said before you posted and hinted in the encounter which the junker Rachita, Spud's next step is to acquire a more inconspicuous human ship so she can mingle with humans without the problem of being immediately identified as a nomad via her ship, or via her cloak.

The reason I started as a morph is because I first decided to make a morph and then crafted the Spud persona around the ID and available technology.

The instructions and advice you are giving me are not being given in a sprit of helpfulness or real necessity, but in a spirit of suspicion, feeling of superiority, prejudice, and simply because you like to tell people what to do. This is how I perceive it.

The only people who allegedly felt bothered by me are those who did not bother to interact and RP with me.

I have not once used the cloak to keep bothering someone who obviously did not want to interact with me. If they showed that they didn't want to continue interaction, I stopped, immediately.

Of how many people and characters can you say that here? In local, pm or system chat, or in potential PvP encounters?

Not very many, in my experience.

Your instructions have been noted, as has your "advice", but they not found to be of any value. Thank you.

Maybe an experimental and malformed character is EXACTLY what I wanted to start as?

My plan was not to stay static but to evolve as a character, in her first 3 days Spud learned a lot of things that were then incorporated into the character and brought into future encounters. That included switching to a human ship and ID at some point , IRP.

Now, I'm sick and tired of the few people that decided to stomp on me here on the fourm, amid the many that I found very fun to play with ingame.

I have no interest in continuing to play this character if it means having to take instructions from select people who are only looking for things to criticize so they can play the big go-to guy.

Good bye.

Hi.

I bumped into your character on a couple of occasions and found it very irritating, doubly so because I couldn't get rid of you since you were permacloaked.

In essence, it looked like a 'troll character' - for lack of a better phrase - or a very, very confused morph. Something about it pointed to the former, though.

You should probably work on the initial impression your character delivers, since it earned you a /ignore on my part.

The character might have potential, but you should probably look more towards Treewyrm's and Moveit's advice rather than dismissing it as being "of no value".

Then again, if you're having fun with what you're currently doing and planning, nobody is going to be able to stop you from continuing along that route. I just wouldn't expect a whole lot of co-operation from others with your current attitude, if I were you.

Thing is, a Nomad ship is not a ship. It's not the Nomad itself, or rather one of it's forms. It has no cockpit, it has no machinery. It is a living thing. The "cloak" is a part of the being's ability to shape light around it, not some "attachment". No, this is not some excuse to get you to change, but rather what the established lore has been from day one, Disco or otherwise.

So while your RP is interesting, and is a different thought process with regards this whole thing, using a Nomad Morph that has a human (hybrid or not) inside it and piloting it doesn't work because of the above, hence why the recommendation is to use another ship. It's like saying you killed an Elephant, ripped out it's guts, and you sit in it and are somehow able to move it/control it/ensure it doesn't decompose. It's not how it works sadly.

You're taking it as an excuse to attack your RP. People may not agree with it, but it's not attacking. It's providing you with the lore behind such actions, and explaining that part of it is impossible to do.

Difficult and unusual characters are the most interesting characters.

No I, haven't really read what this thread is about.
