People hated when there were no technerfs, but Faction-requests for usage. So it was changed to the technerf a couple versions/years ago.

Point is, no one will ever be happy 100% with changes made, because everyone has differing thoughts/wants.

And yet, Lyth, why not make a poll about how grateful you are to have this mod/this community, that is 100% user created with no money made or paid out. How about making a thread showing your appreciation to the people who on their free time, made/make this mod?

When you have made an equal amount of those posts with the posts on how "bad" an idea by the devs are, then i'll be more inclined to agree with you.

I don't understand. Why is it people don't understand that it's a lot better that 75% of the community are happy over the 25% that aren't?

I did my job as a member of the development team.

Now, I have a question. I have personally suffered a lot of excrement being flung at me and even more so being flung at my friends because we dared to have the balls to add a new mechanic, positivity being subjective, to the game. We don't get paid to do any of this. We get nothing out of it other than satisfaction that we're contributing to the game. Why the hell is this fair?

Should have expected it really, take it like a man. We have a saying in my country: Dogs bark while the bear calmly walks his path.

Or, you know... Devs could just say F*** it and stop modding/fixing all together, because the amount of complaining during a BETA is astronomical. How about that? They just stop, and Disco as it is now is what it is, and they just leave. Would that make you happier? Seeing Disco end because the Devs who work for free (and in their free time and do more work instead of enjoying a different game or their RL after work/school) and are working on various things in a BETA are getting so much damn flak for something that may be changed in a further update since, again, it's in BETA, and there are hardly any positive comments to what they have done?

God most people here are so unappreciative, and unwilling to be patient and see what further updates bring. No wonder Kaz is frustrated.

You misunderstood me, i was trying to encourage Kazinsal there. Even if i don't agree with some decisions, they have the guts to make changes, and i respect that. But they should also be men enough to take the flak that comes from people who don't understand that they can't have everything they want.

Ah ok, my mistake.

While yes, they should be able to take what they dish out, people still fail to realize that nothing is set in stone. Everyone is getting so worked up about the most trivial of things, and something that just recently got added. It's not like scanners have been here for years, and NOW they change it. It's a recent addition, with a recent change, that is still not 100% set. Yet people act like it's the end of Disco, and such a horrible thing, and are whining over something that is more than likely going to change yet again.

EDIT: As was mentioned to me, people need to realize it's a FREE game. I can understand if you were playing WoW or another paid MMO. You are paying money for a product, and you expect nothing but the past. Fine to have that outlook, but it's a free game. You are not paying any money for these people to do work on their free time. So just fly and enjoy that you have this community/mod to play that is free to play.

It's not about whether it's the final nail or not, but people won't remember the mod for a good reason at this rate. When people hop ship and play star citizen, people won't rear discovery positively.

So if there is nothing positive to remember in Disco, now or in the future, then why are you still playing?

If you truly don't care one way or another, then why are you even getting involved in these discussions?

I was implying if this track record of silliness continues. The game play is somewhat enjoyable now albeit with some frustrations. If further pointlessness is implemented, then yes. Disco will go down with other people poorly.

@Omicega - I never said I don't care. I do care. But I am on both sides of the coin. Do I want my transport nerfed to 50-75% using a BS scanner? From a player stand point, hell no. I love having it. From a RP/Balance stand point, it makes sense. A Battleship scanner, inrp, shouldn't be able to be used on a transport without some homebrew modifications to work. From a balance perspective, anything that lessens player interaction is something to be looked at.

But, despite all that, I also realize that this is BETA, so nothing is set in stone. While it may suck/irritate me to a point, I also realize that it could change as well, and Devs/Admins need to see what all the options are. You really think they WANT this mod to die out? You think they spend all this time implementing things because they enjoy pissing people off? C'mon.

@Lyth - Pretty much what I told Omicega. It's a beta, so you have to expect there will be a lot of changes, a lot of things you don't like that are needing to be tested. Not just for bugs, but also how players use them and see what could be balanced.

In the end, it's BETA, so nothing is for certain. It's a free game that people have put years of work into for free. So I care about how the community as a majority is just whining/yelling at the Devs for work that they have spent hours/days on implementing. I care that these people are dedicating their free time so I can enjoy a game long after the original has worn out it's playability, yet this remains. Devs, from all over the world, in different timezones, are only a small number, and have enough on their plate than to hear people bash their work all the time. Do I agree with the work 100%? No. But I respect and appreciate the work nonetheless, since I enjoy this mod/community.

But Finn, the devs were given ideas that could've worked and we're ignored.
