The old Collector was an iconic ship, which fit in with the rest of the Junker shipline.
But now we have something that looks like it stepped out of Mass Effect and, for the most part of it, doesn't look Junker like. It doesn't fit in with the rest of the shipline either. I also don't recall that there was large proclamation to get the model changed.

I preferred the old model. If the ship was bad so that it had to get a new model to make a viable fighter, why just not directly buff it's stats?
You know my vote.

I recall there being two objections to the old model.

1. It was literally nothing more than a CSV with some bits attached.

2. There were balance difficulties relating to its rather non-standard shape for a fighter.

I can sympathize with both camps, and don't really have a dog in this fight anyway (I prefer the Gitano and Bulldog). I would rather see a new model that fits the Junkers better, personally.

The new Collector is awesome. The model isn't 'square' as the other Junker snubs, no, but its textures and shape make it fit right in with the Salvager if you ask me.

It's also a fine little Templar-like ship. I've had success in PvP with it in duels as well as group fights. Can't really say if it's perfectly balanced or needs a buff or whatever, but it's definitely not a bad ship.

In short: I like how it looks, I like how it flies, please don't change it (much).

For reference:

Similarities in shape: Check.
'Functional' look: Check.
Rust: Check.

Hell, if the yellow bits were the rusty red of the Salvager instead, nobody would dare to claim the Collector doesn't fit in.

Nope. Original, cool looking, and functional. Isn't my fault that some people can't seem to realize that bringing a new aesthetic to Freelancer is fine as long as its on the same quality level of vanilla's ships.

Also the argument "doesn't fit in with the rest of the Junker line" is null and void, given how many different people have made so many different ships for it.

How about we remove around 20 contrails from the Recycler?

Agreed, I liked the old collector model better than this new round one...

Junker stuff is supposed to be boxy and ugly, that's kinda the point.
