At least i pulled a real life example. Not a fairy tale where you control shadow ninja that can kill 5000 armed assailants/security/bosses that try to sideswipe governments with epic doomsday device / Illuminati like group going all heathens on earth, and still have 80% reliable intel on the enemy.

Funny, that sounds like a couple groups in FL.

Like your badass without feelings quote.

Cute indeed. Need I say more?

Liberty does not do that.

I don't think you can speak for governments... or do you have a badge you haven't shown anybody? In that respect, your opinion is as valid as mine, that is to say, not at all.

Humans are greedy. Most, if not all, are also invested in something. There is not one person in the world who is not invested in anything except their own greed - even the richest people have family, friends, responsibilities etc.

Ah, but this is fairy tale fiction land we're playing - which explains the presence of all these unbelievable factions and characters about the place.

I have to disagree with Kaze.

It is possible to have a mercenary who is loyal to his contractors.

It is possible to have a mercenary who has some core loyalties but also takes some other deals at the side.

It is also possible to have Kaze merc type who jumps from highest bidder to bidder.

Each merc is different.

I can see your number two and three possibilities happening. Reavers are your number two with some core loyalties (Ex: Kusari Lawful ever since the beginning) but not dependent on them.

Now, a 'mercenary' that is loyal to one contractor, two at the maximum? That ain't a merc or a mercenary company. That's someone part of a PMC or a PMC.

Disco-wise, it's a secondary fleet guy that is paid on a per kill basis, that can't and will never deviate from said factions roleplay and is that is fully on dependent on them.

Mandos were a perfect example of that. The moment their contractors decide to close the contracts, they are dead in the water. Since either they become mercenaries in the true sense of the word, or wither and die, waiting for a couple more drops of water to come their way.

I did chuckled at the Kaze merc type.

And yes. Mercs are different. Some are tall, some are short, some have funny accents or a nice dressing code. But at the end of the line, they all go for the payday.
