Pretty straightforward. I'm collecting usage data on what resolution you play games -- including Freelancer -- in.

Cheers.

Laptop and desktop respectively.

PSA: If you have been having stutter/FPS lag on Disco where it does not run as smoothly as other games, please look at the fix here: https://discoverygc.com/forums/showthrea...pid2306502

800x600.

Unless someone can suggest another resolution, where info boxes are in the corners like here, instead of them being away from them like here

Have you tried making a new shortcut and using the -dx command line?
For me it automatically adjusts the placement of the hud boxes.

Open your disco folder, open the EXE folder inside it, open dacom.ini in notepad/notepad++/whatever your plain text editor of choice is.

Under the section that reads [Libraries] there'll be a bunch of DLL file names. Add HudShift.dll on its own line below engclass.dll. It should look like this:

Code:
healing.dll
engclass.dll
HudShift.dll

[System]

Boom. HudShift activated.

My laptop's native resolution is 1920x1080, which is my preferred resolution (15" screen). I prefer to tweak the in-game graphics settings to get the desired performance, if possible. I'm using this for Freelancer, World of Tanks, and Star Trek Online.

Occasionally I will dial it down to either 1600x900 to 1440x900 (depending on what the game offers) if it is particularly graphics intensive and there's a low-clutter HUD / UI. This is because despite having a laptop which is just over two years old, and being fairly decent at the time of purchase, the GPU driver is almost as old as the laptop and apparently won't ever be updated (long story). I've used this reduced resolution on games like Planetside 2 (sometimes) and Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon.

There was a sig here, once.
