give it up , disco is going to die, right here is another one leaving. half the damn downfall is this damn forum crap, other half is all you people who just want to make people miserable in the game, that is those who actually play it, most it seem just sit here posting crap more than anything. so me personally i don't see anything saving this, been here over 2 years thought quitting nurmerous times since this crappy 4.87 update and well now i am finally over it and most of you, don't get me wrong i have met some good people here, but have met so many that i would probably punch in the face in real life that pretty much helped make this decision to leave, so have fun with it!

goodbye,

Former congressman Dave.

So we should just start do code and model without getting together first? Hmm.
To be clear: I don't mind if people think this is stupid and polls are stupid two. To be honest: Everything is stupid but to sit around and wonder whats gonna happen next... Nobody says that this effort/try will be a huge success but the least we can do is to check "who is willing..." so be peaceful you doubters. On the other hand: Your doubts are my fuel ! :-)

Back to topic:

I don't know much about Skype-rooms. Last time I checked Skype did not support those anymore...Or do you mean a "group-chat"?

IF we decide to start everything all over. But maybe we can contribute in other ways. Right now everything seems possible. Maybe the devs will help out or the Freelancer 2 guys Wink Anyhow

(05-09-2014, 09:04 PM)Scumbag Wrote: But this is the best way to make a mod, plan your move first before adding stuff that seem a good idea but are bad for the mod on the long run. One aspect of Disco that was butchered and made into a joke is the lore. If you had someone to temper the madness of the factions and develop a story compatible with vanilla maybe Disco would have been in a better state now. I don't want to give examples because the discution would derail but i will say again. Discovery lore is a convulted mess, it makes no sense.

I would love to help but i have very strong views about some freelancer aspects so i don't think i could work with a team. The right way or no way.

So far I agree on most aspects. Lore and Storyline should be compact, straight and should make sense. Main question would be: Back to Vanilla and continue there or Disco-Lore + 80 years (which could include some major changes).

Animated signatures are really annoying while reading posts.
But this is just my humble opinion.

Group chat of course. As I see it we can keep talking here about nothing, making people angry and hearing the cries of doom from some disgruntled, or start to do something.

This user talks little to none english. If you find something wrong tell him.

I personally feel it's the (with no offence intended here, just stating my own personal opinion) admins putting down too many hypocritical rules, or ones that just simply prevent RP from really happening. Too many sanctions and not enough proper education provided for the new players. We need more active admins who actually play, and not just read forums and help from here. I get it's a tough job, but we need people ingame who want to help. Who actively use their [Admin] ship. I ran for admin awhile back just so I could be that person. But it's not all on the admins here, it's a lot of the trolls that seem to have the community wrapped around their fingers and won't get banned. I won't name names, but I'm sure a lot of you know who I am speaking of.

I have great respect, and many thanks for the people who do help the server; but even I have quit playing due to bullshit that just prevents me from having fun. So many RP restrictions, and so many people who find any reason possible to kill someone. That's not RP when you can't actually play the role of what you want to be. I know you guys are trying to do the best you all can, but I believe we're gonna have to work together as a community if this is to get better. (I get that's what this thread is about. I just figured this is a good time to say what I wanted to say.)

With all that said, I think we should simply reward the players who have caused very little problems within the community. Maybe the devs could implement a short "quiz" upon joining with a new account ID. I get this would be annoying for people who already have done it, but it'd also be very easy for them to answer the questions. Maybe 5-10 random rule questions from our solid set of rules. Getting like 66% correct would be enough to put that account on a "Whitelist" maybe. I get this would be a bit of a pain to set up. But it'll improve the quality of the new players, at least a little.

This community was once great, and I see no reason why it can't be great again, or even better than it was.

Cheers pal. You seem alright yourself. I'd really love to see this community good again, I'm just not sure everyone who is actually part of it cares if it thrives or not.

Well one would hope, so many seem to be trying to cause the demise of it, but the way it seems to me most want to spend more time in here with petty threats and argument posts over actually playing the game, i mean come on, if there are 50 people online, there are 200 on the forum so it seems most want to just have a forum making rp posts or talking trash about everyone, i played for a year before even getting on this forum, and it is sad your expected to read ridiculous amounts of pages of rules, and then all the posted house laws and most new players have no idea about the forum, they get in to play a game, but others chase them off quoting laws they don't know about, played many an online game and have to say this one seems to have some of the worse people i have met, i have dealt with trolls and lulwats on so many others, but this is the only game i have played that some have made me truly hate them and i really mean hate. i had fun up untill the end of last year, even after suspicious crap happened with our bases in sigma 13, supposedly a hacker, but i will be honest i have heard many a rumor that it was more fishy than that. and this is just my opinion but seems most changes in this game have been the result of either admin or developers friends crying to them and getting things nerfed because they got their butt handed to them bu certain unnamed factions. because you know one little ship should be able to take down a ship 5 times his size with ease. anyways i will stop now before i say to much all i can say is this lovely community has chased me off the game from wanting to play anymore.

Would say all my opinions but why waste my time, seems most of you hate me and my kind anyways and do not want to hear it anyways.
