In the matter of Kusari, government is rped by players of the 3 remaining lawful factions (KNF, Samura, Kishiro), while the parliament should be open to all Kusari players, but only gathers the interest of the same persons as the government.

If one one of the leaders leaves, or even one of its most active players does the same, all government rp activity is crippled.

All of those factions (can't really comment on Samura) are suffering from drive, and some leadership imbalances, and the lack of constant presences of other groups in Kusari makes it hard create a dynamic environment there.

The 27th| ain't coming back. Since we got sick and tired of constantly being swarmed by stupid numbers versus 3-4 fighters. Even Outcasts sided with GRN to pile on us. So we don't play the faction anymore, since GRN and those opposing Colonials won't play the game of fair play and resisting the temptation to gank things. It's your own fault. This is the reaction you get.

This's the reason why admins are not introducing them back.

Perhaps they should be if they are barely on the server then?

I think that leaders of said factions shoud be more aware, i lurk a lot in the forums and i had seen people posting in recruitment and withdrawing the application because they didn't gont an answer in a month.... that people are eager to log and give activity...and instead they go away due to that

THe most active groups, are those that trade a lot. Or in the case of the [AI] at the moment a group that mixes trading with armed action, fighting corsairs and alike. GRN is dead, I barely ever see a GRN on. I see a fair amount of RNS around, so its not like that house would with out representation if GRN lost its officialness.

But there are serious problems it seems with house miliateries. I think perhaps one major problem is the way these groups fight. If someone is getting shot at and communicates in the Emergency channel, some one who on that day did not feel like playing FL may feel that they HAVE to come in and do something. Compultion of that kind makes the game more like a chore. Though in fairness I can't think of an alternative. I would have no objection to reinstating consequences for lack of activity, because not only does it damage your own faction it has repercussions for other groups.

If your faction's main/only enemies never log is there anypoint, and Groups like GRN are the enemies of a lot of factions.

Their fun mutually depends on their opponents logging in too. So, we cant blame them really. Its a cycle of activity, when one initiates, a group follows and when one fades away, the whole cycle falls apart. Like the Delta case, where the AI log in now, and that has made the TBH and other corsairs log in frequently. (The corsairs were branded dead, only some weeks before that)

So, every faction needs an initiative from other faction, or other indys to log in and do what they do. Trade, mine, raid or whatever. There can be storyline changes that might make them log in more. Tech changes, ZOI changes, or even a remote commodity change that will spur up their activity will do. But there are not enough people to sit down and discuss with the leaders od the inactive factions as to what they want, what would make them log and what would make them have fun.

Analytically approaching this situation is better than just forcefully making them log in. Also, it might be useful to discuss with said faction leaders/HC members. Like, what made them so active few months ago. What made them log in everyday. And what made them one of the most active factions. Just a month or two before, I saw Reavers and KNF at the top of the activity list. Now, they are with less than a days acitivity.

So, analytical approach, discussion with faction leaders, a bit of patience from the devs or admins to listen to their concerns and what made them active in a past period of time, might yield some better results than activity checks. After the situation has been cleared out, they can resume activity checks.

The biggest problem, as I see it, is that everybody seems to be waiting for somebody to make the first move. GRN doesn't log because BAF doesn't log on the other hand BAF doesn't log because the GRN doesn't log (this is just an example and it is not me having a go at these Factions in particular. You could insert other Faction Names and get the same result).

If you watch the Server Activity closely, if GRN/RNS appears then suddenly BAF/CR/Outcasts appear and vice versa. It is a vicious circle of events. Most seem to log when the Emergency Chats light up. As soon as the problem has been dealt with people start logging off.

In my opinion what needs to happen is that the Official Factions need to be more proactive and log even if there is nothing really going on. Show the Flag etc. Most people seem to dislike Liberty but it breeds activity in that area. Outcasts/LR/Pirates log and so does a pile of Indy LN ships and vice versa. Official Factions need to get off their laurels and earn their right/keep their right to be Official. Being Official means that you have a duty to be 'seen' in Game.

As another example a big Corsair contingent appeared in O-3 recently and suddenly other Factions were logging to RP/Engage with them.

Stop waiting for others to log and bemoaning that nothing happens anymore because guess what?

Everybody else is doing the exact same thing.

PS. Moriarty this isn't aimed at you per se, but I am just embellishing on what you have said.

Are the activity trackers still reliable? I remember them not logging nearly two hours I flew on one of my trade ships. How can we have priveleges based on activity if the tracker itself is bugged and/or unreliable?
