Anyway... The whole story with CR is complicated. We are mostly descendants of the ones who came to Sirius around 800 AS. We were already born here. Some of the diaspora did join the IMG before rejoining the fleet, so it's the ancestry that differentiates us from the Earthlings;)

We need to really talk out the diplomacy. Who among us is red to both corsairs and outcasts? The player corsair factions have always been super firendly with my IMG characters - I not ready to loose that. I know the infocards make it hard on us - but we may have to choose.

well i am all green with the Corsairs aswell as the Gaians because the outcasts always go red with me, i start shooting back at them then the next thing im finding is that Corsairs are all green to me and i havented changed it as i have been playing the "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" card with it, although i dont mind making it white for the faction

as for the Gaians, well i again they have always been green with me and since they are just trying to get Bretonia cleaned up (Leeds system mainly since it has alot of pollution and debris fields in it) also they are enemies with BMM as are we. but as someone said before, we need to talk diplomacy with them before anything gets set in stone

The Corsair factions might be friendly with the IMG players, but there is no need to be friendly, allied nor neutral. Your NPCs attack each other! The infocards are pretty shoddy, diplomacy wise, but Igiss has other stuff to do instead of fiddle with npc diplomacy. Diplomacy shouldn't be black and white, "You hate outcasts so you are our friend" - Corsair.
That isn't right, that'd mean all the factions would be linked together intricately. The Gaians probably don't know who the Order are, but according to that type of diplomacy, they are best friends! It's a complex thing, but you don't need corsair allies. You probably won't meet them in game anyway (none in Omegas from what I've seen, definately none in Taus).
SO i guess it doesn't matter whether your personal rep is red or green, as you probably won't be meeting them ever.

Ian, killing freelancer npcs reduces BHG rep. They are neutral with everyone according to the infocard. Should we associate all freelancers with bounty hunters? Not necessarily. Just because your Gaian rep is green, doesn't mean the IMG are friendly towards them. The NLH probably doesn't care for your mining ways.

Your edited diplomacy is good, maybe just add more factions that might meet the IMG (trading factions for example).

P.S, are you going to set up mining operations? Like Miner ships shooting tons of niobium asteroids then adv. Trains shipping it out? Might not be the most profitable, but it'd be fun!

well our routs aint the most profitable ones too. but hell, its just for RP reasons. lets be honest here - why should like two heavy fighters guard an oxygen transport;)

Diplomacy
Remember Corsairs attack the IMG base in Omega 7. The IMG has relations with the Mollys, Hessians and Lane Hackers because of sympathy/empathy towards their causes/oppressors. I don't see any reason why IMG should be neutral with the Corsairs, let alone friendly with them... Just because you hate the Outcasts, doesn't mean you're an amigo to the 'sairs.

Secondly, you should put Gateway on the allied list. Gateway is a Bretonnian shipping company that takes goods to and from the border worlds. I have a small-time Gateway trader, so I'd love to have your assistance if you get approved.

About the KNF... Well, aren't the IMG friends with them because they are driving out the oppressive BMM from the Tau systems?
Also, why are you friendly with the Gaians? I thought they would hate anyone who rips apart beautiful -asteroids:P.

I don't know why the UOG want to be hostile to you, they use the Hood for supplies and gambling. The IMG sympathises with the Molly's oppression from BMM, so they should be neutral/ somewhat friendly.

About the naming system... It could get a bit tedious, with players having to make new characters when they get promoted. Could get out of hand pretty soon...

About your roleplay about the Kusari war: are the IMG really worried about it? I thought they would like to see BMM smashed out of the Taus, so they could mine the systems in peace. But I haven't read any of the IMG infocards.

Weapons list... Fine, but you do not want Gaian weapons. They are absolutely trash. Vampires (the class 9 right?) are better and more in-rp.

Ship List... I'd love for the IMG faction to only use a Albatross as a Flagship, with the rest of the combat forces being fighters, bombers and a few (aka limited) IMG gunboats. You don't need battleships, they'd be (in-rp and in-game) impractical to move through the asteroid fields.

That's what I thought. A good first try, but some diplomacy issues need to be sorted out.

- i totally agree on the BS stuff you were talking about. theoreticly, as things are right now, we could have 3(!) BS for each advisory member. even though i never use such bloody cr*p we have a real whoring potential here - but beeing poor its no big deal. and if we get more members it should be rather balanced than cap-whory. we may use it wisely though. like for representing reasons at places with cheeky pirates: in Magellan for example. its a really good method to keep the pirats neutral and non-taxy near to our freeport;). so lets see how it develops .. :/

Alright, few quick notes over here. I don't like your naming conventions.
To be specific, AoE, AoT AoRandomletters, as you like to say it.
Too complicated for someone to remember all of that.

Your ZOI.. Well, your ZOI can be pretty much anywhere, but only if there aren't other mining factions there already.
You are explorers as well, you are exploring deep space to find more rich systems.
You can't just limit yourselves to something you already have - IMG always wants more, as well as any other mining faction (example - GMG).

Orkney is south-west of Java station. It's empty, but it can be used to get to Edinburgh really quickly.
To do this you have to go trough Lewis as well, which is a Gaian guard.
And I'm not sure they like us using that route.

About Corsairs, I have my own personal opinion.
Now, look at the IMG. It's not a corporation, it's a guild.
That means random miners join it because they want their independence from corporations but they still want to be protected.
What does this exactly means?
That means IMG members in Tau-23 are pretty much people from Kusari/Brettonia.
IMG members in Magellan 4 are pretty much from Liberty/Brettonia.
IMG members from Freistadt are pretty much from Rheinland/Brettonia.
Hood - Brettonians.. Etc.. You catch the drift.
My point here is - they are not united under one single leadership.
So, it is reasonable for Freistadt Miners to have completely different diplomacy then Java miners.
Freistadt miners are also friendly/neutral to Hessians, since their families are on freistadt.
That doesn't mean that whole IMG is friendly to them. It's not - they are Outcast allies.
So - you can say that local miners are unfriendly with the local Corsairs, but you can't say that ALL miners are unfriendly with ALL corsairs.
It is completely reasonable for Tau miners to have some kind of arrangement with the Corsairs - mutual pact against Outcasts.
It makes sense, it really does. Freistadt Miners don't care, they are still unfriendly to local raiding Corsair parties.
And they also don't care about IMG/KNF relationship, as it doesn't affect them.
It affects only Tau IMG.

In RP, you can split local Corsairs and Corsair leadership rather easy.
Independent Corsairs can be local Corsairs - and thus threat to you in Omega systems.
Faction Corsairs (TBH/Benitez) can be Corsair leadership - which you are not hostile with.

I'm a little sleepy over here, I have no idea if my explanation about IMG/Corsairs makes any sense.

We seem to be in a flow of new faction creations currently, some with very little thought and rolelay value.
So to make quite sure players are serious about the requirements for this process, we are going to levy a
non-refundable 500 million credit bond on every intention wishing to be considered.
This money will only be available again when set against future system purchase for those serious and
successful applicants.
This will apply immediately, so anything posted after this, falls into the category.

i didnt say that is what everyone else is thinking or doing with their RP if Corsairs are friendly to them and plus this is one of the reason i dont want to be the leader :) my diplomacy is a tad messed up

plus that is why we could (not should) be friendly with Gaians and NLH because we would be opererating in some of the same systems and we would have two common enemies in the Outcasts and BMM and Gaians have nothing against the IMG and vice versa

There was a deal between Holman and Harris, I don't know the exact informations about the deal, but they were partners.

Few people mentioned CR here as IMG faction...or, what is totally wrong hired guards...

CR is working together with IMG to establish new home for us in Sirius. We do cooperate with IMG and protect some of the IMG space, we do own Tau 44 and with help with local IMG we are trying to make it suitable place for living...that is our role play...

as for more down to earth things; we carry IMG ID on ALL ships, most of ships have also IMG tag, few special combat squads of vipers carry IMG guard tag as they serve of protecting our home system...

We share most of IMG faction relations, and participate in events as part of IMG, supported by our own RP and history that we have on discovery...

As for this new faction, i wish you good luck. If i were you i would simplify name tagging rules...it will make things somewhat simpler on the long run...also you could expand list of available transport ships, since IMG can be found all across the Sirius it is highly likely that they would fly different kinds of ships...Raven Talon is also IMG ship and quite decent fighter so why not start using your own fighter, god knows that everybody else do...

Also, if this faction becomes reality you should edit your ZOI, cause you will not have any influence in Tau 44 system...System is owned by CR and there you will be just guests...most welcome guests, friends, but that is all...

Note: as for ship list; in next Mod version there will be IMG heavy miner added...(made by me :P..highly recommended ship:nyam:)
