I think what he is getting at here is that:

For each mining laser you get your bonus say 2x for simplicity.

Assuming the field has an average of 3 ore per rock.

1 Laser = 6
2 Lasers = 12
3 Lasers = 18
4 Lasers = 24
5 Lasers = 30

Formula: A = yield per rock B = bonus C = lasers hitting the rock AT THE SAME TIME D = Drop
(A x B) x C = D

Popular ships I have played with and their Turret counts:

Salvager: 4

Hege: 4

Rockbadger: 4

Anna (IMG Light Miner): 5

Surveyor: 5

Tournez: 5

Kamome: 2

That is just a few of the ships and the turrets they get. Say what you wish. I have been using this particular method and have had success.

Well, I just checked the other Junker PoB round Texas, price is still at 4k.

As I said : Tinkers Haven is based of the Idea of trading PremScrap to Yokohama.
So I am forced to drop price accordingly. New Price is set at 2200 / unit PremScrap.

Now lets see how many of my scrappers will still work for the Haven, and how many *non-Haven* Traders will choose to buy here.

I never wanted to start a dumping contest, but I can not afford to let the price at 4k ( 3999k for RP reasons ).


This is to my Tinkers :
It takes a Sally about 8 min to fill her up and return to the Haven. And it takes a Trader about 25 min to fly to Yokohama. One way. Ceep on scrapping , we are still in buisness. But I will not loosen the *no contraband* rule.
Get caught by a policer while carrying Orange or the Exotic, and you risk your welcome at the Haven if he starts a spanking round.

As far as I know, number of mining turrets used does NOT affect the mining speed; Aeternus Doleo (who was responsible for the mining system) clearly told that this is not encoded into the mining part of the mod. Higher drops might be explained by lucky random drops. I made several tries when I discussed this with him, and I found the difference is 15-20% between 1 turret and 2 or 4 turrets (Hegemon). I admit there is a difference for sure, but the drop rate is certainly not multiplied by the number of turrets used, as stated in the post of Vulkhard Muller.

Other thing: right now, the premium scrap drop rate is almost similar (maybe a little bit higher) to the drop rate of other ores in normal fields (silver/copper in O7 for example). It was much higher before the field depletion was still in effect, but since it was turned off, it was nerfed down to normal drop rate along with regular scrap. The Wiki is certainly outdated on Premium Scrap drop rates.

So, to summarize, the only advantage of premium scrap that it can be shipped right away with the mining ship in larger quantities, but that stands only for Junkers (Salvager) and ALG (Golem).

As others stated, I really think lawful sellpoints should be boosted, so ALG/DSE/etc could also haul it.

Lol jokes, I don't mind. Uhhh, I'm not too sure what will happen to Spire for, for now I just want to see if we can get the price of Premium Scrap balanced so that we can all have a decent commodity to play around with Wink

I think imo premium scarp should only be MINED by junkers. We can SELL it to others and others can try to mine it but the bonus should only be for junkers as per RP.
DSE and ALG have their own RP ores to get.

If they buff Waste to make it profitable maybe. Or add an ore commodity "Hazardous waste" / "Corrosive Materials" or something like that.

they should not be coming out of their zoi to make money off of that junkers in RP do. They specialize in their own thing. You dont see a garbage bump company going to wreak cars in a scrap junkyard in real life.

It different specialities!! Its not hard to make your own junker either.

Yeah, 'cept for that part where Toxic Waste doesn't work as a mining commodity. Neither does Iridium. Nor Artifacts. Nor Alien Organisms. Nor...yeah, there's a lot of reason why you wouldn't mine toxic waste as ALG when you can mine pscrap, because it's useless and powertrading is easier.
