Hey, I guess you want to end up playing with an average of 10 players on this server.
Most idiotic idea I could've seen on this forum.
Like ammunition and pirate demands aren't already too expensive...suuure let's take every single coin from the player so he can play a "realistic" arcade game.
Did the real life economy crisis got into your head so badly? I feel for you.
FL in the first place wasn't made to be a realistic game. Go with your bright ideas elsewhere or keep them for yourself.

Because you dont know that Vanilla Freelancer actually has the death penalty option? It's not like we are trying to involve something totaly new into the game. The game itself has it.

Actually Crossfire mod has this for its official clans, they can conquer systems, but only officials.

Seriously, what the hell is wrong with you people? This isn't to discourage PvP, it is to encourage trading. Making money is already god damn easy. It's only rough at the beggining, so for new guys i'd say civvy shuttle and freighter are to be excempt from this kind of fee. Result: People can trade in a few stuff without having to lose cash when blown up.

I'm being facetious of course, but there are people who prefer a quiet trade run and lots of RP to a fight - lots of them.
This doesn't seem to be a benefit to portions of the community who do not like to PvP, much more of a punishment.
And don't tell me "space is dangerous", if we can't make room in this mod for multiple types of people and players, we're doomed as a server.

I don't see EvE having a problem with that and there are tons of players there. Also, back in my time when we played on Vanilla FL servers, there was this penalty thing too, but it didn't decrease the amount of players? So what's your point?

Stop playing on Discovery of Discovery, Snake.

If the money portion thing is found, prepare for slaughters. There will be a lot of rule breaking for this 'small' portion of money you're talking about. newbies will start to shoot everyone in their sight.

So, that's a no from me.

1st EVE is totally a different kind of game.
2nd. "Back in your time?" In 2003 ~ 2004 the game launched and was very known around that time. So, many players were giving it a try or even playing it because it was the "trend" at that time. You don't compare the year when FL was launched with 2014.
Your whole paragraph makes no sense. It's like wondering why DOOM game series doesn't have the same amount of players nowadays comparing to 1995.
