No. Because the actual speed of the BS weapons makes them effective at 1k at most. Further than that, the shots take too long to reach target. So a fighter has enough time to avoid the shots.

I'll add my opinion too.
The range of the BS weapons - yeah we can use a lil increase - say 1500m - then BS (Actually cap ship - not GB - they should stay close-ranged as fighters) fights will look like one - not just trusting towards the enemy and bumping him... , but manouvering , flanking outflanking fire from distance(as i like to call em sniper shots) etc..
Now i still think that BS weps Use up hell lot of an energy and cap ships cant handle the things (although they behave better than before - wich is good). I can suggest a lil increase in cap ships energy regen(the capacity is fine just need little less time to recover) As cap ships i refer to destroyer/cruser , and Battleships.
And the liberty cruser front gun might be increased in damage - as at least a battlerazor (still use the same energy though - its this cruser special STATIONARY gun- and right now he is a lil underpowered) maybe to a value of the battlerazor(and bigger range 1500m or so - we don't need ramming the opponent).
About the fighters railgun - maybe... but this will render the novas useless. Better desicion is to decrease the price of the amoo to half the $$$(sidewinders can also use a decreace in price - still to be the most expensive missle though).
Well thats from me :D No wish to argue just giving my senses for balance (this is not to be in favor of anything).

As saied a BS is the King of the Battlefield , the crusers/destroyers are the Queens. The King is nothing without a Queen. Fighterers should work a lil harder for their prize...

1. Is it just me or everybody's two class 2 turrets (former 13 and 14) on the Battlestar (right "fighterbay nose" ones) is finding them inconveniently missing? Sry, I just realised this last night.

2. I second the Battleship weapons range increase, it's really annoying that you have to get so close that you're ramming each other, or worse, fight a gunboat in a Battlestar - most of the time I couldn't hit the gunboat since he was ramming me or was too close for the guns to fire or too far for the guns to lock-on and hit.

3. Battleship spinning thing - is it possible to be fixed?

I believe igiss tried upping the mass of the bs's already "correct me if wrong" to attempt to fix the spinning problem, I believe the problem is that to stop the spinning u have to up the mass a great deal which also lowers corning, From memory igiss decided to leave the mass as it is at the moment because upping it was going to make ships to hard to steer.

From what I've seen of some of the BS turning abilities that was a good choice.

I wonder if lowering the mass of fighters and the small freighters would help :unsure: ?

I don't know if it would or not because my knowledge of modding can be written using a marker pen on a pin head :laugh:.

Well i think that nearly every Capship i see does not have its stock weapons.

Couldnt Igiss change the stock loadout to having some more effective weapons like for a BS, 2 hevy mortars and an inferno cannon (maybe a battle razor) and then some stock weapons to fill the other slots.

Also Gunboats cannot fire an inferno cannon. Which sucks. Can a light inferno please be made for the gunboat.

Why are you so hooked on the gunboat?

It's a cross-breed of cruiser / destroyer and VHF. It's only suppose to be able to deal with fighters and then not alone.

The only way a gunboat should be able to threaten cruisers, destroyers with destruction is if the shield is down and the gunboat has mostly missile turrets fitted.

It should be creamed by BS's as it's not a mini cruiser.

Yes, I agree that there should be an inferno cannon that uses less energy and does less shield damage. However why should the gunboat be able to use it?

Or you could try mounting Tizona turrets.

You need at least 4 out of 7 turrets to be tizona turrets to deal sufficient shield damage to another gunboat. Also a mortar is needed for some good hull damage, so that leaves 2 turrets for taking on fighters.

And yes a GB does get creamed by a BS but it should be able to at least be able to do some shield mashing to a cruiser.

And whats your problem with this anyway maurauder?

That you keep claiming to have killed a player osiris with a gunboat.

If it can kill an osiris then why do they need more weapons?

Just because I said its a cross between cruisers /destroyers and VHF's it doesn't mean that it's a mini-cruiser. What I meant by saying it's a cross is that you get the agility of a cruiser with the speed of a VHF.

It's a weird class of ship that doesn't seem to fit in anywhere.

So why ask for another turret weapon to be made? Why not ask for it to have slighty more power?

That might solve what ever problem there is without igiss having to make a new turret that has to be put on bases, have a model done for it, etc.

I don't have a problem with the gunboat, I just keep hearing different things that contradict each other about it. You've said in other posts that you can kill player BS's and now your saying that you can't.

Gunboats are gunboats - a terror for the fighters - a fly for the BS.... And a Gunboat shouldn't be able to take on a Cruser on its own ... now 2 GB - thats something else... DAmage a Cruser - maybe - kill i - no way. SAme goes for a BS (even it shuoldn't get past the shields). By introducing mortar to GB they have become more than a threat - they are fine now. We dont needs something uber-powered. That some players like it more than other ships - fighters/BS/caps , well its their choice - but GB should know their place in the food chain :D.
