Oh! Sorry to add more things, but before you decide to answer those question, I have to break something for you sadly. The Omicron as you describe it, unfortunately is anything but peaceful. I would say If not, the most dangerous place to be Sirius. It is a land of opportunity, but is also completely lawless and ruthless should you be on the wrong side at the wrong time.
Its a common misconception many people believe Zoner's neutrality takes the risk out of the equation. Unfortunately, being a Zoner does not prevent the Corsairs from pirating or giving you a hard time, or the Core from abusing you and finding any excuse to blow you up then take your technology, or even Order who are rather too busy dealing with other situation than to stop and help you.
Are you certain this is truly the right path for you wish to take ?

Why would I be willing to become a Freelancer? Well...of course, for making a living. Lately, however, I find it is full of dangesr in the SIrius, as I mentioned. Besides the dangers from the pirates, you have to shrink under the restrictive laws made by those politicians who think they are somebodies, but honestly I really dislike the laws and am eager to be liberated from the awful world.
My family? My father passed away five years ago, and my mother.... died two years later. I am living on my own now.
At last, I understand what you were saying about the Omicrons...I heard a little about the aliens thingies to be honest, but, anyways, they aren't as evil as the politicians in my opionion. So, I think it is the right path I will take.

My name is Atticus Rodriguez. I've done some supply runs in the past for our Colony but after that I've figured this wasn't enough for me. I always seeked to explore the deeper sectors in Sirius and find suitable 'homes' for our people. The Omicrons indeed seem to have given us freedom but I'm very sure that the threat out here has also limited us a little, thus I'd like to fight in the name of our Colony, defend and make it safer for us all as you guys are currently doing. I was born in Freeport 9 however, I've spend my entire life on my own Ships, like the Whale I had for the supply, so I am used to it and feel comfortable like this. I wish to see what you guys are actually doing and want to be part of the organization, not just sitting there and hearing 'rumors' about you. Here I am!

I am brother Gordian Arivalt, late Doctor of Xenobiology Cathedral at Cambridge University and former Chief Medic of Cambridge Research Station; I was born at Planet New London, though my family originates from Borderworlds colonies and I always felt strong urge to go on a voyage there.
Last few decades I spent traveling around Omicrons and Omegas with Zoners traders, serving aboard as doctor and xeno expert.
My ship, Salvation, was decomissioned Corvo cruiser repurposed to serve as hospital ship; association of independent Zoners decided to give me it as a leaving gift for my loyal servitude aboard many of their ships.
However I never served in military in last few years I learned and proved to myself, and my crew, that I can be capable commander of a capital size craft like Salvation. Thanks to that I finally gained confidence to try my luck and join your group and use my skills to help those in need of medical attention across Border systems.
