So I've recently returned with some new hardware to boot. Boy was I in for a surprise when I found out I had a 2 input max on my keyboard Sad

I'm not sure how many players might be affected by this or even realize the difference. Turret steering with 2-Key Rollover compared to 6-Key or 10-Key Rollover is HUGE.

With 2-Key Rollover you are limited to two buttons down at once, weapon switching may alleviate a turn, you can't turn and stop thrusting/reverse, you can't turn and e-kill at the same time. I've also had Ghosting happen from this crappy keyboard, which is when pressing more than 2 keys at once will send an incorrect signal (in my case 2 turret steer keys + thrust will activate my S key, slowing me down and down and down).

Just some info for those of you who might have been asking the question "how the F do these guy do all these controls at once?!?!"

PS: This also affects snub combat greatly, you can't thrust + strafe + ekill, or thrust + strafe + mine/weapon switch/cm.

PPS: Buying new keyboard today Wink

This is a huge problem for me, when I try to play my caps or transports while at work, since I use my laptop and it has a very limited, but utterly comfy keyboard.

My PC keyboard does not have this cancelling problem, but is bulky as hell and does not feel right when typing or fighting.

So yeah. Boo.

That's why you don't buy 2$ keyboard for gaming.

I am currently using A4Tech KV-300H and it's incredibly comfortable for everything, gaming, typing, whatever, and is cheap as chips. And comes with two additional USB ports on the sides (sun).

While I don't want to sound like an ass for saying "omg buy better stuff"... seriously, buy better stuff. Cheapskate office keyboards aren't good for gaming. And that's not to say great keyboard will make you great at FL, but using trash will make you worse.

@edit
Also, there's no such thing as n-key rollover, this happens when you try to press buttons that are on the same circuit line or whatever, and this doesn't happen with a specific number of keys but rather some particular ones.

N Key Rollover is where "N" stands for the number of key's your keyboard can register properly simultaneously. My old gaming Keyboard had 10-Key Rollover. Meaning it could properly understand and execute 10 simultaneous commands.

I am getting a new Keyboard though. Bought this one not knowing there would be a difference.

I had one of these. Hated it to death, switched to a DAS Keyboard and never looked back. It will be interesting to see if your keys actually last. They say the switches have new patented technology for gaming, but have been criticized as knock-off Cherry-MX Browns without the reliability.
