Was not involved in anti-pirate activity, rather specializing in fleet to fleet action, but left at the time of the Nomad takeover of Rheinland Political and Military Leadership (received word through contacts in Bundshuch, by way of younger brother Roman, member of Bundshuch in university).
-From his journal left in the wreck of his Bergelmir after an attack on his military patrol outside of Voightland Depot in Dresden, it was clear he had theories of Sirius corporations in collusion with House governments, all working to consolidate power and eradicate civilian populations. These consipracy theories and suspicions of Coalition infiltration reached their peak, when Stortebeker was ordered to join in joint patrols in Kusari space with the Kusari Navy, against all known treaties. Instead of joining the mission he went to Kreigzberg depot in NB, doing work for the junkers, and eventually made his way to the Omicrons, helping Zoners against House military aggression. Later, with a price on his head he went into hiding, where he found out about the Wild, and the Nomad's true plans for the sector.

-Recruited by Bundschuh (contract jobs) for attacks on Rheinland military targets; later worked with Red Hessians in Omegas to excise DHC and Rheinland corporate presences from the independent systems.
-Wishes to see a free, anarchist society flourish in the Border Worlds, away from House influence. Wild and Nomads are not the true enemy; given their propensity to not kill humans, they cannot possibly be the true enemy. The elite in charge of the Houses are colluding to keep the population in fear of the alien. They are the true threat.
