I pledged, and am the proud (?) owner of a 315p, Gladiator, and Constellation Taurus. At the very least we're going to get an immersive space combat simulator, and it'll be great if trading turns out to be fun and not entirely terrible due to the legions of pirate players. I do expect it to be a spiritual successor to Freelancer, since at the very least it will have the same basic types of gameplay available.

I do expect players to go away from Disco to try it out. If they like it, they'll stay, and if they don't they might return.

There was a sig here, once.

I already pledged for a Mustang starter last year and saving up to buy a new PC (actually needed the new pc for work but pushing it back to get a more suitable one for high end stuff). Recently got to join 2 of my friends pledges too to buy a Carrack exloration ship. I know that the game is really ambitious and realistically might be really hard to pull off what they are planning but even if it just turns out like what Omi said, I'd be happy for "an extremely solid, enjoyable, multiplayer-focused space shooter - with support for roleplay".
What I'm actually afraid of is where would be the server based? would it be like multiple servers for different areas of the world like WoW? or just a single server ala disco to handle all of the players?
Well since I already pledged and money spent, no looking back now.

I haven't pledged but I did get a summer job in order to buy a gaming pc to be able to play SC and Blood Bowl 2 so I guess yes, I have high hopes on it.

What I've heard is, that there'll be a single (main) server for everyone. However, there'll be a player cap for every system/area, so they won't get crowded too hard, making people's PCs burn.

Also, there are supposed to be private servers, too. And modding as I've heard. Sounds great so far.

Someone posted a link on the forum with a limited-time offer to get some ship and access to some stuff for 25 bucks or something like that. I bought that, played the demo. Was fun. But hard to tell what it will turn into. I played a bit of Elite Dangerous as well, and even though it's further in development, it's hard to tell what that's going to be too. Both might fail hard, so I keep my expectations very low.

I've heard, that Elite Dangerous is just about the same as the orginal was; trading, exploring and fighting. Just with better graphics. So I didn't felt the need to buy a new rig just for it. Probably going to play it simultaneously with Star Citzen, for which I definately will afford a new setup.

Pledged
it will succeed the genre of chris roberts sims.

Got a new rig for her today ontop of the fact the old rig has been parted up and upgraded for 10 years.. just need a whole new PC built.

Knowing quite a few of the producers on the project, they will complete this thing even if it kills them. But you dont have to take my word for it.

I'd love to play, but I won't play. Not until I get PC which wouldn't be burned by such game.

Mind sharing its specs with us? What was your budget?

I'm going to build myself one aswell at the end of 2015, and I'm already considering what parts I'll buy.
