a posible solution to the major problems with capship colision with astoroids at least could be to give them a simaler encoding to the nomad battelship as iv seen them fly right through rocks in delta and sevral other places giving capships this ability will require a balance i was thinking to reduce their top spedd in astoriod feilds if posible but not over all as a cap ship has masive engins so could keep pace with a fighter regardless of its size if you think you may have a soulution to the balance ishue with this post.
post it

Simple. Don't go in an asteroid field in a Battleship. It's ooRP and it's good as it is.

NPCs do not collide with solid objects and take no collision damage. - but there was a line from another mod that gave battleships their "mass" - not sure if someone is in contact with the people that managed it.
The NPCs can also fly straight through asteroids in fighters, I've lost count how many times the finishing salvo has hit a rock the NPC I was shooting at has flown through and then it comes back through the rock with half it's hull, full shields and firing madly.
As for battleships flying through asteroid fields... pick a smaller/slimmer one, otherwise, go dead slow, fly manually and use strafe.
Most importantly, never use the autopilot unless your hands are half a second away from the free-flight and cruise buttons.

yea thats true but to be off any use cap ships HAVE to go into astoroid feilds i mean look at the outcasts they have astoriods at both their major jump holes and so do many factions.
the olny other realistic soulution would be to give the astoroids a hit box of their own and to allow them to move but that would just create masive amounts of lag as it would cause a cascade evreytime a rock got shoved into anouther.

It is fine as it is. BS's shouldn't have an easy time with rocks. Their massive, that is their entire point. Tight spaces should be hard for them to navigate, if that isn't rp, then I don't know what is.
Their captains should also stay far away from places they can't navigate, like say Omicron Beta. Yea, funniest thing I've ever seen is a Rhein BB try to get through Beta.
Hmm, where have I come? Why does it seem so familiar to this one?
There was a mod (the name slips me now) that had asteroids that moved when you piloted a battleship thorugh the asteroid field. There was minimal lag and the asteroids that were launched were reset on server restart.
It worked very well I must say.
You fear oblivion. Yet you forget. The universe remembers every atom of your being. Even dust hums your name in the dark. Roleplay is dead. Long live Powertraders and PvP I guess.
