So I'm wondering. Is there anyway to change what sounds are played though which monitors? Somehow I managed to get skype to buzz though my laptop speakers and everything else is played though TV screen but I have no idea here. Does anyone know how to?

In the skype settings, make sure you have the right audio output selected. It might reset after you connect or disconnect certain devices, depending on what connection (3,5, hdmi, usb) you use.

Thing is, I don't mind that. I'm wanting to know how I can get other sounds playing out of my laptop instead of my TV when it's connected.

When you connect your TV, the TV will be seen as one of the outputs for your Skype. Just replace the TV with your laptop speakers, while the other ones remain on the TV.

What sindrom said, is theoretically correct. This doesn't only work for skype also for multiple other applications. I'm using it for teamspeak when my laptop is connected to my TV.

Receiving Skype sound through laptop speakers, while connected to a TV that plays the main sounds
Quote:Step #01, get into the output devices menu
Step #02 you probably did this already but it might be still useful for others, activate the laptop speakers
Final Step, adjusting skype settings // the skype options picture might be outdated, took it from the net

Teamspeak, VLC Media Player, Windows Media Player, StarCraft II, Ventrilo are allowing you to change the output settings via the customer application, using either of those will save you to work around in windows. Just go into the settings of the application and simply change the output device. Those are not all applications that support this, though only those I can think off at the moment.

For your desire, a soundcard would be optimal. This way you could customize the sound output/via monitor completely without having the need of an application output-settings support.

So If I don't have a very good sound card, something like the most basic one you can get, and I want to play WarThunder sound though laptop speakers only, how would I do that?

How is your TV connected to your laptop?

Via a HDMI cable if that's what you mean.

Thank you, I'll take a look at it! I also suppose I should move this to the right place...
