I think everyone should take a cold shower and come back to this.
Seriously guys, this has been reduced to images glorifying Khorne and Slaanesh.
But in all seriousness, the hilariously precocious kids driving things should tack on a couple more years (or a few decades) to account for things like basic training, then pilot training, then a stint in an Evangelion (Kusari only), before actually getting their hormone-ridden hands on the controls, and then the conn.
But in all honesty, unless the kid's something of a Mentat, and every House and various factions are engaging in highly questionable manipulation (because the Reapers of Sirius are definitely not a result of such manipulation, not at all), I'll laugh in their face and point out that:
1. They're hopelessly inadequate,
2. I'm flying a Waran,
3. I'm carrying Novas, and
4. they have no flaks.
(This happens more often than you think.)
This could all be boiled down to:
Unless they're sticking syringes in your head, don't be a teenager behind the wheel of a very expensive ship.
Side note: If they are sticking syringes in your head, you're in a faction that's hard-up for personnel, such as the Order, or an escapee from said faction, or even from a House-sanctioned operation, in which case you had better be unlawful or seeking asylum, and therefore in a snub, freighter, transport, or gunboat. Kids behind the wheel is believable, but give them a modicum of justification.
Good example of a teenage commander without syringe play:
" I joined the (House Military) after lying about my age. The ship I was training on had a disaster and the officers died. I took command and earned a commendation. What with the production of ships going on for our eventual ROFL-stomping of our enemies, my track record sent me to the top of the list of those waiting for a command of their own. They nearly discharged me with an option for prison time for lying about my age, but my track record was a point in my favor at that point, and skilled personnel happen to have valuable skills. Lo and behold, (Norfolk/Southampton/Forgot Rheinland/Forgot Gallia/Forgot Kusari) Shipyard produced the ship I was to exec. The Commander died for some reason, I took the job, and did whatever we had been deployed to do. Another commendation, and they made my command permanent. My friends from (Richmond/West Point/Everyone else's dirtside training bases) actually respect me now."
Bad example:
"I tested really high in aptitude, so high in fact, that they said 'here's the ship you'll command', and gave me my personal party boat. Oh yeah! "
The teenage pilots that are the most believable happen to be the spoiled rich kids. You know the ones, like the kids with the whiskey bottles, brand new cars, and oak trees obstructing their paths.
Catgirls and whatnot are perfectly acceptable, as long as you don't flood comms with
"YIFF"
"YIFF"
"YIFF"
ad nauseum.
Cat girls as in "Disguise" or a Dress are acceptable, but not an ACTUAL Cat Girl. Fine if you want to RP a Female that loves to be dressed like a Cat, whatever. Don't come with furry stuff though 8|
