like jamez said so many times before Gunboats need shield busters..and i dont mean tiz or colada i mean somethink like inferno or inferno cannons...gunboats are only ships without shiled busters for that class of ship..
there are a lot of talk about balance but i dont see balance there...(one fighter can do much more shiled damage then GB)
i propose following:
just make one inferno cannon with same shiled damage as normal fighter does, one shot per sec and power consumption about 60000...so fighters cant mount it...
and make it class 10 turret...

Well I think the inferno cannon does more than the inferno for fighters... I think we should make an inferno that does 1/2 the damage than the inferno cannon, but also uses only 1/2 the energy. This would be usable on guboats and cruisers. Might be a good idea for a 1/2 damage/power consumption battlerazor too.

Fighters have WAY less hull and shield. The gunboat is more of a anti-fighter ship, in my opinion.

i think so too... but they should be able to fight cruisers and other gunboabs / cover the fighters/bombers...

i agree.....but fighters have also on their side speed and manevurbility..GB are slowish cows with nice hull and shields...most of class 10 fighters have more weps with potentialy bigger damage output...and dont forget novas and supernovas (or whatever they are called)
my point was only that they are only ships without shield busters.....i know that GB with its fwd gun can take fighter shield quite fast if that fighter stays in one place but in reall fight GB has really big troubles to hit a fighter...so when it hits that shoot better count for something...atm that isnt like that...
to be honest i really doubt that GB will ever get something like smaller inferno cannon...but if u think about it better cruiser would need smaller infernos too...most of them can fire inferno 3 times (at the most) before they loose all their power....and what is the use of getting enemies shields down when u cant use other weps to finish them off...

Well, on a GB if you want to have a chance against fighters only have the FWD gun, and one or two normal turrets. Then have the rest be missiles, solaris, and 8.33 refire turrets. It will work fine against fighters. The thing is it isn't supposed to be able to take out fighters and gunboats with the same loadout easily. You can either load it out for anti-fighter attacking, or anti-gunboat.

Ahmmm....

would it be :crazy: to ask for some more docking-rings ?
There are so many nice planets....
For example in Alpha.... wouldn't it be nice to have two planets close together with a docking ring, so two rivalizing cl... ahm factions have their bases and can fight for being the ruler of system ?
Or are there enough planets and bases ?

(maybe we never come to an end, discussing one or two guns, nanos or shield-levels...)

The infocard for the kitth (?) gunboat needs checking, there's no CD/torpedo mount, can't remember if it did have the CM and mine mounts.

It'd be nice to have some more planets to land on, even if they don't sell anything...
