Laugh or not, but I still have XP (old potato PC). Which hadn't had any problem for now 6 years.

Eh. Unfortunately as good as XP is, it's outdated. I prefer 7 but i can't exactly go back to it without losing a pile of stuff so i'm not going to bother. However i think i'll play around with some services and see what can be turned off.

As a go forward. if you can afford it, Windows (x) Professional doesn't have a lot of these problems because it is designed for the corporate environment, not the home user. Unfortunately, it is also a lot more expensive to acquire.

I have no idea what you guys are doing wrong to have such problems.
Windows 10 is by far my favourite OS by now after using it for a few months.
Where do you get ads in your OS? I'm actually curious, because I haven't really seen a single one but that just may be cause I don't really use that start menu.

Looking back at xp it just seems incredibly clumsy to me. 7 was okay but 10 is still an improvement. Even 8.1 was good already.

I used W8.1 for a few months and it broke a whole lot of stuff including Shadowplay, so I switched back to Win7. When I stop playing Discovery, I'll go back to full Linux setup.

Well. Seeing as how Windows 10 simply can't deal with loads of data and running sometimes for 72 hours at a time. Never had this problem with Windows 7, only reason i upgraded in the first place was because Windows 8.1 was slowly falling apart. I.e BSOD and random reboots. 7 was ultimately bomb proof, however support for it ends soon (If it hasn't already) and i like to keep things as up-to-date as i can for security purposes and efficiency. Clearly i made a catastrophic judgement error when i installed this monstrosity they call 10 on my PC.

On another note, i found the hybrid boot file which supposedly speeds things up and deleted it. Then promptly disabled the hybrid system entirely because the constant state it's saving is causing various issues, mainly unresponsiveness and hanging.

I won't. The only reason I'm using W7 and not XP is because I can't find drivers for half of my hardware.

Huh so it turns out by activating the default administrator account, logging into that and using Powershell it's actually letting me disable crap now. #MurdersDefender

Soo. When is the next 'Windows' being released so i can then go and shout at Microsoft for such a botched attempt at this Wink

I have 3 Windows 10 PCs that have like 200 days of uptime without reboots. Of course running the pro version so I can disable auto updates.
