Hello Sunny. Its good to hear from you again, even tho the news you brought me is disturbing. It is clear the corsair, if he was indeed a corsair, was under the influence of some very nasty stuff. Or he is brain-dead. Either way, I am sure you understand that certain individuals are beyond anyone's control. We are indeed sorry about the incident but right now there is not much we can do about it.
A few weeks ago I would have advised you to contact the Council of Elders or to open a case at the Corsair Supreme Court, but I doubt you will get an answer given the current status quo. Still, maybe a miracle will happen and the Corsair Court will process your complain and take the needed measures to avoid this happening in the future.

I do not expect there to be significant immediate action done about this incident, but it would not hurt for there to be a much greater knowledge amongst the empire's citizens that we are rather good terms and not considered as traitors. That would help. Though I do understand that there are things that are beyond control.
It should be said though that we cannot be engaged in a hostile attitude towards for example house spaces. For that reason, for example with the Rheinbeer, you would sometimes see us docking or even providing some escorting to some citizens. It is for the purpose of keeping a good image that we do so.
The problem starts when we would for example be escorting a miners convoy and then find a corsair along the path. I do hope it would not come to a fight but if it does, I hope you will see that we would still need to keep our image towards the people we are hired to aid. That being said, any damages that happens the club can be sure to help fix and pay for after. In this situation however, we would try to avoid the fight and perhaps encourage to pay for the demand the corsair states to avoid trouble.
Please do understand though that we stand by you against your more ruthless enemies such as the Red Hessians and the Outcasts.
I hope through this discussion we can come to an understanding and figure out a solution to agree upon.
For starters... I can wave my hand on some instances if you would be willing to do the same. Makes work easier.
But I understand that this should be followed as well on a case-by-case basis and not just in general.
Anyway, it is good to have this talk ahead of time.
You are free to do whatever you want, wherever you want and with whoever you want. What you need to understand tho is that destroying corsair ships and/or killing corsair pilots in order for you to maintain your public image will not be tolerated. You can't have it all, Sunny. Nobody can.

I am afraid I must have explained wrongly as to what I am trying to get at...
My fault. Excuse me for it.
I do not wish to say that I would want to be free from attacking corsair vessels.
What I am saying is that if they are aggressive first and ignore our ties then we shouldn't be deemed traitors for defending ourselves.
As what had happened with the previous incident, the AFC pilot did not even shoot back to defend himself for the corsair attack and had therefore less chance to escape.
What would have happened all together if he would have shot down the corsair attacking him wrongly? I would be in more trouble.
This falls in line to the escort scenario.
So no.. I am not saying we are asking to attack corsairs freely as a public image thing. No no no. Hell no.

Defending yourself is one thing, defending others its a completely different story. I recommend telling your escorts to advise your clients to comply with whatever demands might come from the corsair pilots in order to avoid any problems.
To make it even more clear, if shots will be fired by AFC towards a corsair while the AFC ship is defending a third party, heads will have to fall.
Other than that, like I already told you, we're good.

Everything understood and thank you for your patience. It doesn't help that I had a massive hangover and some thoughts were not delivered correctly.

Still, I much prefer having this discussion with the incidents discussed not happening rather than having the incident happen and then talking about it.
That being said, I will be making note to have us all be aware and make sure such instances do not happen. If there will be some instance where while escorting we may get in the way between the the corsair's demands with the transport, we will take your advice to help the demand run smoothly. If there is nothing to be done then I suppose out of respect of the corsair empire we may even abandon the escorting... for the greater good.
Anyway these scenarios and all that are making my head hurt. Would you like to be invited again to share some drinks at the Black Cherry? I'll pay... but then again... I'd be paying myself *laughs*.

Well anyway, we have a contract made between the elders and us recently, and this has made our storage of BMMs and food grow recently.
We only need several runs to do a month for the contract to supply your nation, but I am wondering that if you would like some extra shipping to do you can stop on by and take some cargo off our backs that is destined for Crete and Tripoli anyway. What do you think?
