Guard systems removed by 4.88 Final:
- Alabama (assets going to Cassini, Kansas)
- Ellesmere (assets going to New Hampshire, Virginia) -- system entry to be converted into Sigma-21, something completely different
- Illinois (assets primarily going to Colorado)
- Londonderry (assets primarily merged into Poole, one asset to Omega-49)
- Omicron-74 (assets primarily merged into Omicron Kappa)
Guard systems repurposed by 4.88 Final:
- Hiroshima (better connected to Kusari gate network, external assets received)
- Luneburg (renamed to Sigma-15, external assets added)
- Omega-55 & Omega-58 (systems "divorced" and assets shuffled between, placed on opposite sides of Omegas)
- Omicron Rho (given non-redundant links. More to be done at a later point)
- Omicron-85 (given non-redundant links. More to be done at a later point)
- Omicron-91 (given non-redundant links, external assets received. More to be done at a later point)
- Omicron-94 (renamed to Omicron Xi, placed in Omicron Lambda's spot, connected to Munich)
- Puerto Rico (links changed, assets adjusted)
- Sigma-59 (links changed, assets adjusted)
- Vespucci (links changed, assets adjusted)
- Virginia (links changed, receives assets from Minnesota) -- two "half purpose" systems combined
Excess systems removed by 4.88 Final:
- Chester (assets going to Inverness)
- Dundee (assets going to various locations)
- Humboldt (assets primarily going to Kansas)
- Minnesota (assets primarily going to Virginia)
- Oita (assets going to Hiroshima, Honshu)
- Omicron-81 (assets going to Omicron Beta, Omicron-80)
- Omicron Eta (assets going to various locations)
- Omicron Lambda (assets going to Omicron Kappa, Omicron-91)
Excess systems recycled by 4.88 Final:
- Omicron Zeta (new Omicron, connects to Sigmas)
Systems on the watch list of doom for 4.89 Initial: Basically, we already have our eyes on these systems in case they become a problem
- Cassini
- Omega-9
- Omicron-92
- Omicron-100
Systems already redesigned: Omega-54 (4.88.4), Poole (4.88), Tau-44 (4.86), Tottori (4.87)
Thirteen systems left to be removed for 4.88, with thirty total removed in 4.88 as a whole. An additional five were removed previously to that, although I may have forgotten about one or two (not counting New Anglia or New Cambria here). Some of these dates might be off by a mod version or two as well.
Remaining former guard systems are considered integrated into the mod. Infocards have (and in some cases, may still need to be) scrubbed of egregious guard-style writing. This list is mostly finalized, but some elements remain WIP and may be subject to further change.
Aww. I always loved Ellesemere as a system. It felt like the LSF's little slice of secret black ops hideaway.
And may I ask why Omicron - 100 is risking the coping. Lock? Currently it is one of two fully controlled systems by the Order, and one of our final fallback points. Any particular reason it is risking removal?
We told you it was a bad idea, and you're still doing it . ANd when i see the number of deguarded systems that are being kept, it just makes me sick.
Final nail i guess., like you teenagers are saying...
Well we'd need better devs,Obviously.

To be honest it's actually a good thing for Molly's. Guard systems are oorp, so having your stuff taken out and put into an inRP system not only makes them inRP but also solidifies you position in Dublin. It's a one up up you have over the guard systems that are currently staying; none of them actually exist inRP currently (until they either lose their guard IFF and get deguarded, or are deleted and have their assets moved elsewhere).
Otherwise, yeah why do we have to get rid of Chester? Why does it have to be fused with Inverness? I'd struggle to imagine both systems fusing or having their layouts changed, as they both look so nice the way they currently are
Also I thought Zeta was being deleted, so it's being turned into an entirely new system instead? What sort of links will it have? Any further details?

Care to share how Londonderry is beneficial to Discovery?

Londonderry is beneficial to the Mollys due to the massive amounts of roleplay and diplomacy that spawned from it. With the Corsair raiding party invading and nuking Cork, the Molly planet, it caused a massive, galvanizing action that brought the Mollys into the Omega Conflict between the Corsair Empire, the Red Hessians, and the Sirius Coalition. The SCRA/RHA forces were then joined by the Mollys, forming the Omega Triumvirate against the massive Corsair warmachine that was constantly raiding not only the Omegas, but Bretonia, Rheinland, etc.
The bombing of Cork has driven Molly diplomacy where it is now, so deleting it kind of...makes them rethink a vast majority of their diplomacy. A vast, vast majority.
