Torps are able to track on target. take as an example submarine launched torps. They were guided by cable first, by sonar now. So torps can track a target.

Jamez they were only talking about starkiller and sunslayer being able to do that.
But he is right. They shouldn't be that good. All one has to do is go in a circle with the other ship and hold the torp button and they win. And the sunslayer only takes 3 shots to kill someone. 1 for shield 2 for hull. Starkiller is also still unbalanced as that. We tried it once and scraped it. Lets not try bringing it backjust so that dogfighting has no point again. You want to beat someone in a dogfight... learn to fly! If you stink at dogfighting so much you must use homing torps than get a slipstream.

Unless your in a Raven Claw... Took me six for the hull ALONE.
To hit a VHF with a nova is not that easy, as the torp homing capabilities are not that good. You need to fire it at point blank, and you risk being blown to bits in the process. That is if the opponent manages to lower your shields right after you shoot the nova.

If you need to use torpedos in a fighter V fighter fight then you need to learn how to fight. I've seen loads of people using nova torpedos in fighter V fighter duels.
I've had duels and friendly PvP with several players and the ones I remember as being fun and exciting were the ones where no torpedos were used, missiles and mines are fine but I really think people who use nova weapons in duels and PvP are just looking to win.
Anyhow, getting back to the point..
The only reason I'm suggesting that the starkiller be removed is because it's useless again NPC cap-ships.
As for the SP campiagn, why would you need torpedos? You get creamed by the SP cap-ships you come up against as you can't dodge and fire torpedos at the same time.
What's the point of having a weapon in the mod when you can fire a full load of ammo with it and barely damage your target?
I remember that I found the torps being useless in SP campaign anyway, used them only the first time I played. As well for the missiles.

I only used torpedoes ONCE in the campaign... Back when I first started playing, I tried discovery SP and kept getting murdered at Tegaki's Arch... I gave a Falcon I think, so I had to character edit a sunslayer onto my character to kill the Kusari Destroyer that's sitting there....
Whenever I used torps in the SP campaign, it was that I had given myself the Sunslayer torps in whatever ship I bought that could hold them. I probobly would not have finished it in the time I did if I hadn't had them.
