Excited young man with a new unselie's uniform entered the bar. He approached to the barkeeper and asked for some beer. He layed his hands down on the bar and tried to keep a talk with a group of military pilots beside him. After some silly questions kinda "Where are u from?" and "How did u join QCRF?" Serg loudly announced that he had a fight with some Corsairs today. This news didn't disturb anyone cause such fights became a normal incident for a long time. So after a second mug of beer Serg got enough quiet and told some more details of his fight... "Well! Then i asked for some assistance... and attacked them! Yeah, i hadn't any chances again a Cruiser... but i resolved to attack! So Praetorian stayed behind me... and i turned to the Cruiser... it was just few seconds left to the hull of enemy's ship... when i would to push a Torpedoes Launch button... and i tried to push..... but i missed! I pushed a button which launch rockets!!! And i hadn't any on my ship!! Huh. It was destroyed in a few seconds after this occasion... i hadn't another chance.... It's pleasant that my automatical ejection seat worked as it must... Well, i may ask my higher commander for some additional pilot courses 'cause those bombers are rather new for me..." Last sentence was especially quiet.

Ike entered the bar scanning the people drinking and chatting at the tables - there seems to be only regulars here at the moment, nobody with QCRF badge - he observed. Nobody sat at the bar so he had free way to the bartender.

- Wanna drink something, pilot?

- Sure, a Dublin stout would be fine.

Sipping his drink he asked:
- I hoped to find someone of the QCRF here....

- Up for a change, pilot?

- Yep. Sort of...

- Well, it's already late afternoon, but I expect the first showing up at around 8 - you can wait here of course.

- Sure. Mind if I fetch my guitar and play some music here?

- Just go on, sit there in the back - pointed the bartender to a table - if someone who is in the hireing business of QCRF arrives I'll direct him or her to you.

- Fine, I'm back in a minute.

The audience was happy to get some live background music, not only the usual radio station. Some even recognised him from former visits to the canteen on BS Derby.
By 8pm the bar was already half full, not long later Ike saw the bartender talking to a couple of pilots and gesturing at his direction...

Samantha Windsor slid into a booth, looking across at the lone man strumming his instrument.
"Heard you were looking to join up, pilot..." He jumped, jarred out of his tune.
"Well, yes..I was...I mean.."
"Relax, here. Cant do much for you here, but if you take this datapad, It'll show you how to get to our office on Leeds..closest thing to here, and basic will get you starside quick enough."
"Thank you, ah Miss?"
"Captain. Captain Sam Windsor. Welcome aboard."

"Bar-keep! Allow me to purchase that young man a drink. He may be a raw recruit but he isn't afraid to go toe-to-toe-and-sod-the-Marquess-of-Queensbury with those pirate weasels."

Sir Roger froze.

"He's a bloody Kusari?! I thought his name was scottish!"

Fortunatus sighed. Here we go again, he thought, then stood and moved to the bar, leaving his drink at his table.

"Mr Brinkley! I'll remind you of the sterling work of one Juno Keitan, a loyal and trusted member of the QCP, and also of Kusari descent. You will refrain from further comment on this matter, unless it is to make an apology, or to purchase that aforementioned drink. Is that understood, sir?"

"Well, ahem, I ....that is....."
Brinkley stroked his moustache in the manner of a unrepentant xenophoblic old soldier who preferred to be skewering foreigners rather than having drinks with them.
"No disrespect intended. Just the name had me thinking I was going to encounter a kilt-wearing, claymore wielding maniac. And of course Ms.Kietan has made me reconsider my foreigner-hating ways."
He raised a glass.
"To the people of Kusari - the ones we've decided not to slaughter."

Fortunatus smiled. He loved shaking people up. It seemed the rank of commodore seemed to have some value after all.

"Excellent! That's the attitude dear boy! Now, both of you, join me in sinking one of the last few bottles of the finest single malt Wright's distillery ever had to offer. I have some memories to toast, and that's best done with company."

"I was born on Kyoto and raised a Blood Dragon. I have nothing but contempt for the corrupt Kusari government, the dog at the feet of Samura. I'm here because our best hope for liberating the people is with the Queen. Once the Kusari government is defeated I know there will be peace and honor back in Kusari."

Akumibito holds up his glass "To the queen, and to victory!"

He downs the whiskey in one gulp.

Anyway, I've been flying a Templar, a fine ship to be sure, but I just recently did a little paperwork so I can try a Hussar. Sure it lacks firepower, but it turns like like the wind.
