Capital ships require resources. This is an RP server, where buying any random capship without at least some RP is innately oorp.

Remember that the act is probably not as harsh as it sounds. Come up with some RP, make sure your rep and equipment are RP kosher, and you ought to be fine.

For ScornStar...
Exactly as Twilight Song mentioned. Capital ships require resources. Without proper RP like Gronath's(click on the link), you really should not be able to just buy one. Not all factions are like the Harvesters, who get to skip the process because machines can man the ship.

I say...leave this thread as is. It's been an interesting, lively discussion, but it's also obvious this is going to proceed. So forget the thread. This is just going to become a flamefest.

Its not where the hell I fly. Its when the hell I fly. Thats nearly all the time but not 24/7. I rarely see caps cept for my own. I guess it must be when scholl gets out somewhere, cause I'm at work ussually at that time and dont see it. Maybe your work schedule is different. Possible since Ive never heard of any of your characters. Well maybe we will meet and hopefully theres no whoreing going on yet. Corsair in an IMG, wierd you ask him anything in character, or ask him in PMs? He might of had a reason. Might not never know till you ask. Try not to assume the worste in folks.

Unfortunately, his reason would most likely be an excuse, since for the most part, having non-matching IDs and tags is a sanctionable offense. You even know that, which is why all the Harveys have Junker IDs and tags.

The point is, the When you fly argument doesn't fly. Just because it doesn't affect you does not mean it doesn't affect others.

If you have RP behind the characters, there is no issue. Since you are on the forums, that increases the chance of that a hundred fold.

As for Scornstar, yep, its pretty bad when there's some 160 people on the server, a quarter are whoring diamonds, a quarter are in capships, and another quarter is in NY.

The point about capships vs bombers is this- when you fly a capship and see an enemy, you have two choices. One, charge in guns blazing, or two, talk for awhile. You can startup number two midfight without too much worry, since your armor and lack of dodging anyway won't make it do too much harm. Little stuff can't do that- you stop to type, you get nailed. So you get in your RP beforehand. Since everyone who flies fighters tends to do this, there is no issue- if you didn't, there would be a LOT less RP going around, and the place would be less fun. Unfortunately, a lot of capship owners can be classified into the following categories:

1) OMG, big ship...
2) Wow. Lotsa firepower.
Subgroup A: That means I can crush the noobz under my boots! Ha!
Subgroup B: That means people will think twice before crossing me, so I can get in some pre-fight RP.
3) Nice armor there. That'll give me time to type.
4) I've got a cool idea for a capship's RP, time to make it happen, even if the pricetag gives me nightmares.

Top to bottom is most common to least common, sadly. That's why we do this, to get people to move down on that list and see that capships are more than engines of destruction and PvP, but defensive platforms behind which one can RP more safely.

I totaly agree. You are just being dramatic.There are NO where close to so many BS as you stated.NO WHERE CLOSE. And don't forget it's realy hard for a noob to get one , so each and every person who has a BS , knows all too well how and where to use it.I have seen almost every battleship admiral in space.All of them had a good RP in game and where pretty nice and helpfull.I have NEVER seen BS admiral's just killing what they see....you are just lying to get your *decision* aproved.Also I read somewhere *OC Desi's fly ALL around NY. I see 4-5 of them and they just sit and do nothing but kill on OORP*. Ok , 1st , I've spend ALOT of time in that system and NEVER seen more then 2 Desi's of that kind at one time.All of them where exelent RP'ers (Dominatos is probly on of the best).And the all atack IF AND ONLY IF they are atacked.It's a whole driffrent story that the SA , LSF , LPI do not respond to their try to RP and simply ignore them.About the Battleships being abused...Espasially the OC BS"s , common name how many are there and being used in an OORP manner ? Cummon name them ?
