Me and My friend are going to be rich when we combat WoW. I mean we have the best idea. There is going to be some balancing issues though with one of the vehicles...oops! I mean characters!! :)
People would buy the game but the problem is the servers are going to have to be pretty strong and so is the game I mean you have to be able to go in every building or the game will suck so hopefully that won't be too hard to make and we can get a company to help us. One they hear the idea they are going to love it i'm sure.
Anybody know any enemy companies of WoW or Blizzard? I was thinking like EA but I EA have bad server problems and I want my game to be a success I don't want it to fail because of server problems. Maybe Relic though I don't know how they feel building a MMORPG. I don't know.

WoW is a fun game...like the post says...you either love WoW for what it is or you hate it.

I said I wasnt gunna reply to this but can't resist. I played WoW from launch up until Thanksgiving last year. Thats right at 3 years. Raid leader. Guild officer. PVP champ/team coordination. The whole nine yards.
Social Enjoyment? -
More like social robbery. The time v/s reward scenario is the general forumla of gaming. When you were younger playing games on a 386/486 that were actually 10x better than most gameplay now you would imagine say ... Elite with todays graphics and think 'man a game that never really ends is such a great idea'. No.. its really not. Its a carrot on a string and rarely do you ever taste carrot and when you do its not even enough flavor to actually realize its a carrot.
What happens in PVE is you throw yourself at the same thing over and over and eventually it dies. You move your way through a neverending chain of progression. You yell at your raid group until they do it because its NESSICARY. This isnt a game where you can throw 25 (used to be FOURTY) people in a raid and just go beat up anything you want. Its a micromanaging NIGHTMARE. You have to distribute the loot evenly and actually equip your raid, but people DON'T FATHOM THIS and why the heck should they. They just spent 4 months standing in line for something and... you just gotta say no I'm sorry my DPS is failing and we need it for the next challenge, it does'nt suit your class, etc. DRAMA... that player leaves. You find another one. Rinse repeat and it never ends. You have one of your best healers/tanks go out and get drunk on a Saturday night. Grats you raid is a mess and 24 people had a hard time with the game they showed up to enjoy.
You do this for months, and years. Then oh look its patch/xpac time. START OVER LEVEL ONE! WOO!. All that stuff you went and busted your ass for? Its handed out like welfare now. It literally falls on the ground to anyone that can mash 1,1,1,1,1 without fail.
PVP is fun, exciting and great...until you realize you are running around in the same 3 maps to get tokens for gear that will be obsolete in less than a month. Its the same exact situation just you have a different enemy and that is class balance which is basically non-exsistant. You will have 'flavor of the patch' builds where its some kinda lottery. Maybe you luck out and your class get its. Maybe you NEVER get it (see: protection warrior) and are basically laughed at for PVP viablity.
Its not a game to play if you want to accomplish everythign in it. If you pay for all this content and expect to just run around and experience it, then the jokes on you because you CAN'T. I did about everything possible in the game, BETA tested all thier stuff and was pretty active in the class forums, but its pointless. They are making the game how they want. They refuse to come up with a cooeffienct system for PVP that actually works. THey just keep piling more broken stuff onto more broken stuff and I'm done with it.
If you want a game where you get immersed in a world, buy Oblivion and mod the crap out of it. If the argument is that 'you don't get to interact with people and RP', then forget it because it doesnt exsist in WoW. Your community is truly SPOILED to have such a good RP based game thats moderated. Trust me.. I've been through the wringer with a lot of them in Alpha/Beta/Launch/Retail and forward from there. WoW is criminal compared to most of them.

Played WoW for 3 months, landed in servers #1 raiding guild, raided a lot, and after 3 months wondered why I was spending 5 hours a day (19:00-> 24:00) raiding, and blowing most my saturdays on a GAME. Sold account for 500$ (fully equipped druid in sets for feral, rejuv, balance) Never looked back.
There are mmo's out there that require less time invested (DAOC is one of the current ones)
One of my MMO rules is: if they raise the level cap (thereby instantly making any gear/skills/whatnot obsolete) I leave. (DAOC, GW are 2 current ones that haven't)
I've tried to forget, I've tried SO HARD to forget...
Rogues are so OP in pvp now it ruined the game for me, after seeing a rogue with only his 2 weapons trinkets neckles and cloak owning every other class i said F$(# this. Haven't played in 2 weeks since i started to play FL again.
I've been playing blizzard games since the original warcraft: Orcs and Humans back in '94. Been playing world of warcraft since it launched around four years ago...
the game has lost a lot of what it once was, as all MMORPG's do over time. When I first started playing, and for the first year or so, it was an awesome game... it got your blood flowing, seeing the amazing world blizz had created and being a part of it, and moreso when you went up against the unimaginably huge bosses.
Then the class revamps came. People on the official forums cried that such and such was overpowered, or underpowered, or needed this or that. Blizzard's first mistake was giving in to these whiners. Through the class revamps each patch the game became exceedingly imbalanced - sure, some classes had been overpowered beforehand, but now every patch made a new 'flavor of the month' class and the game started spiraling downwards from there.
Then the honor system and battlegrounds showed up. BAD IDEA BLIZZ!
World pvp was fun, it was unpredictable and you never knew when someone might jump out of the shadows and attack you. It kept you on edge and added some adrenaline to the game. When they put in battlegrounds, pvp became like any other 'instance' in the game... boring. Adding a 'goal' to pvp removed it's allure for a lot of players, myself included.
Then the honor system... like the last line above, added 'goals'. It turned pvp into a grind and an epeen-flaunting contest rather than just another fun aspect of the game.
Unfortunately the first expansion (burning crusade) didnt do much to solve any of this. All you got were more grinds... pvp grinds, reputation grinds, instance grinds, grinding for money, grinding for items, grinding for more experience to level up 10 more times. They've turned the entire thing into one big grind-fest and NOBODY likes doing that.
I still play now and then though. My first character ever created... 4 years ago... was a night elf druid, and that character is still my main to this day. I've also got a 70 paladin, 65 rogue, 62 priest, and a bunch of others in the mid levels.
I'm eager about the next expansion though, it seems like blizzard is starting to learn what really made the game special to begin with and are tryign to go back to it. I dont expect the honor system or battlegrounds to be removed, or all the grinding for that matter, but I think they're trying to give the game back the immersion it once had.
Well, that, and I'm psyched about making a deathknight =) I played starwars galaxies before WoW, and I really missed my dark jedi from that game... the DK will let me go back to being evil once more =P
