I don't think it's even that important right now. OPG was active on few servers and as an organisation and idea it is pretty old. Note, that doesn't mean it requires any special status, but it does justify the idea of its members to remain OPG if there is one on the server. Thats why when I joined on discovery I looked no further than OPG.
First of all, glad to see the gunboat numbers trimmed down a bit. First time I found you as a BPA recruit, 3 gbs at planet cambridge, in my shiny new hussar, you can imagine how it went.:D
Have to say, had a lengthy chat with Mule today, and he knows his stuff, very nice RP. Stuck to the RP about helping the population of Crete, and asked for half cargo of passing lux food trader. If he can hold up a discussion about OPG tactics and reasons for a good 20 minutes, then all for the OPG.
I haven't seen much activity from you guys in Omegas, mind you that might just be the times I'm on the server. Would love to see you more active there, would make the Bretonia to Rheinland journey much more interesting!
well... you got pirated didn't you, that means we're just enough active for you *grin*
again, you have to mention names for those gunboats, but I can assure you, I haven't flied one ever, and asno gave up his and we have two pirate transports now. Much better.
The OPG 'round out' the Corsair factions as they are very much more biased to pirating than either the TBH or Benitez (unless TBH or Benitez are pirating lots when I'm not around?). This means that any prospective Corsair has a wider choice of Corsair groups to which they can belong depending on how they want to play. This has got to be a positive thing.
Whilst it is a generally accepted thing that traders bringing food (or something else that is needed by the starving people of Crete etc etc.) will not be shot, the OPG are adding lots of colour by simply heading off and literally stealing the stuff from traders who might not of been intending to go anywhere near Crete. That makes life interesting for the traders (and police etc.), and that must also be a positive thing.
Causing mayhem in Bretonnia is good for the Bretonian clans/groups as it gives them something to do, and that in turn will allow them to flourish which can only make Discovery better for us all. (I might even take some of the Benitez out that way on the odd occasion. :P ).
Based on what I've read here with regard to the permitted ship and weapon types (I think I read that Nomad weps were no longer permitted?), I'd offer my support to OPG becoming official. A goodly number of people already think they are.
So in conclusion, keep up the good work, and I look forward to you guys becoming official.
I'll make my own quiet opinion known: It's a travesty that you haven't been recognised as a Discovery faction yet. You've been on as long as we have, and do allot of good for the server.

Reading through this thread and based on ingame experience of the OPG, I've got to go with the majority here. They should be official. You have my support 110%. As Carlos said: "It's a travesty that you haven't been recognised as a Discovery faction yet."
Good luck getting the inevitable 'yes' and I hope to be able to fly alongside you again soon! (We sure showed that Bounty Hunter outside Cadiz huh!)
