shield busters

ive got a question. in light of all that has happened recently (and in the past), would it be appropriate, if we were to start development of shield busters for all the houses?

1 for liberty, rhienland, bretonia, kusari, and pirates (since according to some of the stuff ive read, the debilitators are supposedly restricted to lawfuls, civilians, zoners and hackers, cids are restricted to corsairs, and maybe certain allies, leaving the rest in a bit of a dangerous spot)

the corsairs have the tizonas/colodas, and they do a decent job. but, i dont see a reason why the gaians, or even the farmers alliance should use del cids, when they fly civilan ships etc.

same goes for the others like the bundschuh LWB, etc. they dont have access to the inferno or del cids, and since people have stated that the debilitators should be restricted to lawfuls and hackers, what do factions like these do? rely on a full hull buster loadout to take out shields? not really fair now is that?

either give every major house a shield buster, bringing unique weaponry to disco, or making the debilitators LAWFULS ONLY, and introducing another, 'generic' pirate debilitor type gun, that can be used by most pirate factions without a spot of bother.

is this too much to ask? or is this reasonable. post your honest opinions.

A generic "pirate" debilitator could be cool. Leave the Debs and Imp Debs to the Lane Hackers and lawfuls.

I would love if there where Shield busters that my outcasts could use. I can imagine it.

Shield killers blazing, then those pesky Bounty Hunter's shields gone and then finishing them of with a well placed missile or or Blaster Shot.

I reckon they should also add a KO zone on the cockpit of fighters.

The second option would be better in my opinion.

Make the generic pirate gun developed by the Junkers or the Zoners, so its available to both sides. Otherwise, we get back into the subject that the 10+ threads out there are about.

If the generic pirate one is used though, there will definately be controversy over the stats. Speed and damage will be the main points I think, and there are isses to consider of balance against the Del Cids, the Inferno and the normal debs.

@Generation: Inferno is meant for that right?

thing is, the outcasts have the inferno, but it goes on the torp lost. most fighters have only 1 torp/cd mount, and for that reason, they prefer to have cds or maybe sunslayers instead of an inferno mounted (i preter inferno/razor any day though:P) this can be both advantageous, AND disadvantageous. for gain of uber shield raping, they lose a crucial cd mount, making pirateing a bit harder.

this pirate shield buster would be sold on pirate bases ONLY, but, to make things a bit balanced, only on non corsair, or oucast bases (in other words, its sold only on bases such as the order, hessians, gaians, etc, stating its a pirte shield buster, not a specialied one designed by some specific faction)

would that work?

EDIT: maybe the infocard states something like this:

In light of the development of the debiliator class shield busters, the junkers came up with their own version, the pirate shield buster. though less effective than a the original debilitator, it still packs a punch, and is considered part of the normal equipment of most pirates.

(sorry, rtushing for time, will expand on this when i get back. got exam now >.< )

The only thing that's needed is to change the infocard on the Adv. Debilitator... to make it the universal gun...

".... made by civilian companies as well as pirate factions"

And place it on some more unlawfull/zoner bases.

Easiest of all.

EDIT: Do you know that normal debiliator turret (class 7/3), that does 360 shield damage for 20 energy (EXTREMELY energy efficient - I use them on quite many ships), is sold on <strike>over 12</strike> 9 pirate bases?

From Farmers alliance to Xenos?

regardless of where its sold, you cannot deny that there is way too much controversy about who can use the debbies atm.

your suggestion, that makes it universal would work as well, either edit the info card, to allow everyone to use em, or restrict them to lawfuls and hackers, and bring in the pirate variant of the debilitor. i use them on certain chars as well ( eg: xeno fighter), not all, but certain, and i do realise how valuable said guns can be.

anyone else got any suggestions to go with this? cuz this seriously is a topic that i feel needs to be addressed after all the stuff thats been thrown about.

I thought it's easiest to change infocards and add a few selling locations, than making a pirate copy that will have almost exactly same stats.

Imp. Debilitator can stay "lawfulls only" development stole by the Lane Hackers (since they actually made them at Ageira), maybe with infocard change as well.

Adv. Debilitator is enough for any pirate. I mostly regard the extra damage of Imp. one as unnecessary overkill and not worth the much worse damage/energy ratio.

i don't think each faction needs a shield buster. it possible to be successful without them. lets try not to water down the unique weapon differences some factions have.

some factions don't have access to shield busters. which i believe is a good thing. diversity makes things much more interesting.
