My name is Arteth Sevii, captain of the Mastodon-class transport Heavy Metal Queen. I find myself carrying all sorts of things in the Queen, but often times I find myself in situations where I need to move faster or with a little bit more firepower. Sometimes I simply wish to relax and enjoy time with guests instead of the solitude of space. As such, I purchased myself a Democritus-class yacht, which has ample space for both passengers and cargo.
As we all know, occasionally there arises certain third parties who prefer to profit off of the work of others. Like death and taxes, pirates are inevitable, and I believe it is my responsibility as captain to ensure that my passengers are safe, no matter the circumstance. For the sake of both my crew and my future passengers, I wish to outfit my Democritus, the Thunderbird, with some of the best medical equipment you can provide, because the current equivalent of a school nurse's office just does not cut it in my line of work. Could you give an estimate for the cost of equipping, say, one thousand rooms (Dimensions and floor-plans of the room are included in the attached schematics file) with advanced care, triage, and life support systems? Also, however many sets of both surgery and diagnostic equipment are typically required for medical facilities of this size would be included in this estimate.
Also, I recently had a mother give birth to a child while aboard my vessel. Although it was a safe delivery, as I looked around the room and saw the antiquated medical equipment, I wondered what we would have done if it hadn't gone smoothly? Or if a sickness broke out amongst my passengers? I try to always be prepared for the worst situation, and I think this is an easily justifiable purchase for me.
I am able to afford and provide the needed medical supplies and staff myself, I just require the equipment.
With Regards,
Captain Arteth S.
I must not fear.
Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear.
I will permit it to pass over me and through me.
And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.
MESSAGE TO: Captain Arteth SUBJECT: RE: After-Market Upgrades
Good day Captain Arteth -
My name is Michael Vallon, Principal Director here at Cryer Pharmaceuticals and Medical Technologies. I have sought fit to handle this matter personally, as your request is quite larger than a typical Sirian. I am glad you sought out Cryer for your need, as I do believe we can assist in outfitting the Thunderbird.
Given the amount of rooms, which I would assume hold say four to six patient pods? If that is the case, do you have a trained medical staff onboard already? The answer to that question will make the difference in cost quite large. With that said though, I have had my assistant draft up costs for just medical equipment, as well as cost for medical equipment and contracting out a medical team to be stationed onboard your ship.

Mobile Medical Unit
500
50.000.000cr
60.770.000cr
As you can see, there is a considerable price jump. Keep in mind though, that our medical staff are fully trained to handle all but the most extreme of medical conditions, and all have over ten years experience minimum to qualify for our mobile unit program. I am aware that you mentioned you will be providing the medical staff already, but rest assured, should you go with the complete package, you have some of the finest medical teams treating and helping your passengers I promise you.
Adjacent to the above cost, there is a 15% fee for our services for packaging and delivering the above equipment to one of our facilities for pickup. Please though take your time with reviewing the above costs, and I look forward to speaking with you soon.
Director Vallon,
I am very grateful for your timely and personal response. My team is skilled, however I believe that the potential medical operations at this scale require a bit more expertise on the matter, and more importantly, experience. Therefore, I have decided that I will purchase the complete package.
Let me know to where or whom you'd like the credits sent, where I should dock the Thunderbird, and when to do so. If my math is correct, I believe the total, including the 15% fee. comes out to around 69,885,500 credits, correct?
With Regards,
Captain Arteth S.

Good day Captain Arteth -
I am pleased to hear you have accepted our offer. Please send the final amount to Cryer)-Cimarron. Once payment has been received, I will have our medical teams standing by, where they will be awaiting you at Cambridge Research Station. All the supplies should be on station by the time you arrive, and will be awaiting your pickup.
If there is anything further that you should need, please don't hesitate to ask.
Director Vallon,
I have sent the payment as requested. The Thunderbird should be arriving within the next hour or so to pick up the delivery.
Thank you for your cooperation in the matter. I will keep in touch, as I'm sure there will inevitably be some things we won't be able to handle on the Thunderbird.
