Boxing is how you fight caps at all in VHFs. If fighters are going to have to wiggle side to side when something is shooting back at them, good luck not getting absolutely pasted by return fire. Strafing runs only even half work for bombers.

I was more on about why would @Corile want vertical strafing gone in the first place? It's a nice gimmick otherwise and else just used to box. So I take he got some issues with boxers?

Because boxing whilst flying away in a straight line is a part of why you can't be hit while shieldrunning.

See, and that's the problem. When ten people are chasing you in a fight and you're able to dodge them all the time for more than ten minutes, there is an issue with it. There is no fun in dragging a fight into hours. That is a problem, matter of factly. The only valuable options here I can think of, without nerfing the manouverablity of snubs to flatbread, would either be making gun projectiles (their hitbox) bigger (I don't know if that's possible, as the I believe non-model based fire has hardcoded hitboxes that won't change no matter how big you make the shot effect, just like other games have that issue, like Freespace 2 and Egosoft's X) or making the gun shots faster, just enough to have a snub chase ended after ten minutes instead of constant shieldrunning.

Except when you tried that in conn I was hitting you more often then when you actually used the mouse to turn a bit to make the movement more spastic...

Also remember it only took 2 min and 6 sec. Smile

One test case against one person is not enough to determine that, especially considering I made two pretty big mistakes there and we didn't fight with reload.
