- I'd like to see the music room, if it's not a problem. I'm very curious about it. - she said, waiting for him to lead her to it. - Maybe you could even play something for me? - she then added with a smirk.

''Which instrument would you like?'' he asked while leading the way. The music room was only a little down the corridor. They entered a large square room, the center of which was dominated by two large pianos. Along the walls hung various instruments and other such things like spare stings, bows, and tuners. There stood a large desk at the rear of the room which was covered in papers. A violin case lay open on one of the couches by the window, a few papers scattered on the floor by one of the piano's itself suggested someone had already been playing.

''Here we are'' John said walking in, his voice echoing around them.

- I very much enjoy listening to a piano. But I have never had a chance to hear one live. - she replied while they walked. Upon entering the room she looked around briefly, her attention quickly dedicated to the pianos in the middle. She slowly approached them. taking a closer look at one, then another. She then moved her hand over the second one. - Real wood... Was it made by hand?

''It was'' he said sitting down and fiddling around with the papers on the stand. ''Now, what would you like to hear?'' he said looking at her expectantly.

- It's impressively well done. - she commented, then walking over to the couches and taking a seat, putting the book aside. - Surprise me. - she crossed her legs, leaning a little against the armrest and looking back at John.

''Alright'' he said settling down and begining to play one of Chopin's works. It was an ancient tune, but one that had survived, intact, over the centuries. It was probably his favorite, and he took pride in being able to preform this piece without being hindered by his shaking hands.

Caroline remained silent, listening to John play. Her look eventually drifted away, focusing on some unspecified point in space beside John. She remained a little distant through the entire piece, her mind seemingly engulfed in thoughts. She only came back once John finished played, smiling a little and giving him a humble applause.

- You've been playing for a while, haven't you?

He was quietly proud he managed to preform without making too many noticable faults. ''Since I was eight, but Victor is the pianist, not I. Still I hoped you enjoyed it, would you care for another or did you have something else you wanted to do?''

- I'd like to explore the area around the house. But I have the entire day for that. I'd love to hear a piece or two more, if you don't mind. You're playing very well.

With saying anything, he began to play again, a shorter tune. He followed on from that with a few others before standing up and looking at her. ''Sorry lass, that's about all I can manage today''.
