Honestly, these nomad turrets dont even look right on 'human' ships. They're nothing but blue jelly tumors.

Anyone that uses nomad turrets who doesnt have solid RP behind it (like, some of the black squadron guys have that RP about some scientist developing nomad tech on their ships, but they can still only use a small number of the weapons I think) should be considered nomad infested and listed as KOS by everyone else.

Most of us are at the very least wary of anyone using Nomad technology, and at the first sign of weird (read: loltastic) behavior, they usually get fired upon. If upon PM discussion after they respawn and before they change character they don't see the error of their ways, usually a notice is put out somewhere for potentially Nomad infested characters. It works pretty well, at least as far as I've seen. Some of them even start RPing like they actually are touched, even if not infested, by the Nomads.


Oh yeah, Keepers will either KoS you for having Nomad technology or (if we're feeling nice in RP and mean ooRP) blow your equipment off and leave you to waddle back to base as a warning for those who would hurt the Lightbringers.

guys - i wonder what you do when there s nothing left to regulate anymore. - nomad capship turrets were free for all for a long long time, no one ever complained, - so i wonder why ppl complain now. - nomad turrets trade off refire for damage - the dps is more or less the same.

they do look a bit out of place on a ship, - but if the PLAYER likes to live with the odd blue bubbles, so should anyone else. - the reason they have no infocard is cause there is no custom one. - the reason they are blue bubbles is cause there is no custom model.

those in contact to nomad capital ships should have a right to use them, that most of the borderworld factions. - gosh. how much is left that people get mad about?

if someone wants to use them, leave them their freedom and the decission for heavens sake.

It's kinda funny, the keepers want to KoS people with nomad weaps because they aren't infected, while others want to KoS them because they are.

The fact is, zoners sell nomad turret. If you don't like it KoS the Zoners!

and buffalo base sells corsair turrets.

Right now, there are TONS of weapons and items sold on bases that the owning faction cannot use because of RP restrictions, the nomad turrets are no different.

if you dont have an RP written up on this forum explaining exactly why you're using the weapons, you shouldnt be using them as a non-wilde/keeper.

The nomad turrets are different, because no one is getting sanctioned for them.

Also, it's not a case like other bases where files were copied and replicated on many bases, like corsair turrets on BH bases for instance.

We all understand that's it is human nature to want to boss other people around, but this doesn't mean you get to dictate the turrets they use, unless you are an admin.

They'll have their adapted versions, in fact transition to them will be painless and easy, no need to do anything at all, what's the problem then?

Back in 4.83 nomad capital ships were free for anyone to buy too, so what? All it did was making nomad roleplay much harder due to the prejudice which wasn't baseless at all. No more mercenaries flying nomad cruisers. Times change. What is past is past.

the point here is that there shouldnt be bounty hunter battlecruisers or liberty gunboats flying around with a bunch of blue nomad turrets stuck on the hulls. People arent using them for RP, they're using them as a way around being forced into faction turrets so they can get something better.

It's no different than an outcast ship with order turrets, a corsair ship with outcast turrets, or a kusari ship with bretonian turrets. It's OORP and should be sanctionable unless the player using the weapons has RP to back it.

That isn't a problem with the players, it's a problem with the mod.

Why should someone get stuck with sucky weaps because of their faction? Why should there be a built in winner mandated by the mod?

This limitation is already overlooked with the supernova, with infernos, etc...

It should be overlooked here as well, otherwise it's a server full of hypocrites

It's a lot different. These turrets are sold by Zoners, so if you're friendly enough with zoners you can buy them.

The zoners don't get them directly from the nomads, so they either had to reverse engineer them or scavenge them, and they sell them to everyone, like all their zoner stuff.

Interesting... Two Rheinland Gunboats have two guns each. They are "Experimental" though. Back when RP wasn't necessary and one could mount Liberty Cruiser forward guns on gunboats, they had those, too... :?
