time it was 6 on 1, at the Theta JH. Then it was a Cruiser, and 3 Fighters on me. And finally Osiris and 2
GBs. Now if my bounty is in Gamma, why would i come in fighter or bomber? Just to dodge battleship guns?
Fly around in circles? Of course ill come in capship then. Maybe ill die, but ill at least stay alive long enough
to get the bounty.
You're not listening to what most people here are telling you.
If you're alone, you're weak why the HELL would you go into one of the biggest pirate factions home system to hunt after a bounty? That's like trying to assassinate the president of the United states with a knife in the White house.
How should you do it? Wait when the target is vulnerable, when he moves out of Omicron Gamma.
Your argument is this: Hey the White House is well protected, so I'm gonna get into a tank and charge into it, and stay alive until the army can bring in big enough guns, and maybe I'll survive long enough to kill the president...
It's he's talking to me, but I'm talking back into a wall.. Weird.
Anyway, yeah.. sorry for not.. how to put this so everyone understands?
Sorry for not letting you get the bounty thats on my bomber with your capital ship.
And think about it for a second, if those ships that have bounty on were in gamma all the time would they have that bounty? Lemme get this one for you.. No.
So, try to catch them somewhere not corsair main system, kay?
Quote:Uh, Robert, i'm out there hunting bountys every day, so i have a good idea of what my prey usually is. And
Guild Core, wich i am a member of, is at war with the Order, therefor is also at war with the Corsairs. So i
think we need capital ships, and we need to use them to weaken our enemys. Also we have only 1 BB,
unlike other factions that usually have 3, and only 2 BCs. We have no cruisers. We have also 1 GB and
2 GSs. And about 5 bombers and 12 fighters.
Hunting bounties everyday? The Bounties you hunt seem to be OPG, which is not an accurate representation of the total bounties made by the server's players. The OPG respond to your Battlecruiser by bringing out bombers and capital ships, so your view of bounties is obviously skewed by these increased numbers.
However, it's rather impressive of course, fighting from a Battlecruiser... I wonder if you realise that the Core doesn't even concern itself with bounties, they recieve their funding from the Guild. The Core is a military force, designed to destroy the Order and Nomads (for research). They aren't for collecting bounties against underprepared Corsairs, who eventually respond by bringing out capitals.
Don't bring black & white diplomacy into this. If you are at war with the Order, it doesn't necessarily mean you are at war with the Corsairs. If you go by that logic, then you can bring Battlecruisers to kill Hogosha and Gaian players also.
You need to stop accusing the Corsairs of OORP and PVP-whoring, when you yourself are doing the wrong thing by collecting Bounties. You are the Guild Core, not a typical Bounty Hunter group.
Let me tell you one thing from a hunter to another, Tic. We, Mandalorians, are also greatly engaged in hunting down the Corsairs. Ranov'la Aran in specific, is known to be perhaps a little too brave (as in going to Gamma alone in Catamaran bomber). But mostly we try and go after these guys when they are around Omega-5, Cambridge, or perhaps even Omega-41, but that's really stretching a bit. If we think we can pull it off real quick, we do go for a hit and fade in Gamma. And I have to say that to date we've obtained a fair amount of success from these operations (some 40-50% success). Considering we're "entering the lion's den", I'd say that's an excellent mark. And I have to tell you, I can remember only a couple of time we took something larger than a bomber there, once a gunship (big mistake), another time two gunships (we got lucky on that one).
About fairness, there was this one time I saw two of the OPG guys in Crete and decided to go after Unseelie's bounty on them. Server was kinda slow that day so I decided to try my luck. I was in the Catamaran and they were probably too in fighter class ships, so I went there anyway, I thought perhaps I had a shot at pulling it off.
After two minutes fighting the two original guys, another wave of Corsairs started launching from Crete, first a Gunboat, then a Praefect, then a bomber. At that point I figured perhaps I wouldn't be able to finish off the fighter I had somewhat crippled a bit. What I did was say, "How many more ships are you going to throw at me so you can kill me?" But that was more something of an in character taunt than anything else. After all, if there's one thing you can rule out of most Corsairs is combat coldness, they are a proud people and most pilots I've fought against portray that quite admirably. Well, turns out my little challenge to their masculinity paid off and then the other bomber (that was OPG Crucifix if I'm not mistaken) told everyone to back off so he could single challenge me. We did our little showdown over Crete with the rest of the Corsair pilots away from the fight. We engaged in a fierce duel, but in the end he was the one to land the supernova.
All in all, if I was to say something of this... If they are a bunch of capwhores, as you so speak, the more reason to take a wing of bombers there. You'd clean their space quite fast. That one episode I've just mentioned. Even if I had been swarmed by fourteen Dreadnaughts there, I wouldn't be surprised. Sure, it would be overkill, but I'm the one entering their home system. It makes sense for them to throw their defenses at me.
EDIT: Ah, and it's mighty easier to bail out in a fighter.

Now if you flee on thrusters out of scan range ,after you have been in battle ,you retreated from battle (that is still going on) and .. IMO... you are dead..
I know rules are blury here .. but we chewed up this so many times....
Oh no--see what I mean, here we go again...again.
