i can't be bothered to type loads as i'm tired...... but i aggree, it is unbalanced..
Capital ships need MUCH more armour and shielding as the way it is atm, 2 fighters can destroy a capital ship in a matter of seconds using only their guns, no missiles or anything..
now come on...... in the single player, you were worried about capital ships and didn't go near them.... yet here, a single fighter can take out a battleship? i think not....... Fighters either need to be made weaker, or capital ships given MUCH more armour to protect them from the fire-power from fighters weapons.
as i'm sure many of you PVP cap ship fans will aggree
Whether it is balanced or not, I ask you one question. How do you add new content to this game without upgrading -something-, when everything is already at maximum pretty much (IE: Eagle has the best maneuverability, Titans have the largest power plant, etc.)? Are you going to make a really crappy ship in hopes that someone will go, "Oh, well, I feel like being statistically inferior to everything else in space" and purchase that ship?
The two fighters in question cost MORE than gunboats. Mull that one over for a second. To reiterate... they cost four million more credits than the most expensive gunboat. On that note, I've always known that gunboats are inferior to fighters in terms of flexibility. It would be different if you could assign your turrets to track a target while you yourself are busy performing evasive maneuvers, but alas, this is not EVE. Ultimately what it comes down to is the capital ships in general, gunboats included, need an upgraded antifighter turret. I've already stated this elsewhere, but I'm not going to bother digging the post up just to say, "SEE LOOK I SAID IT".
Gunboats are supposed to be quite fast, maybe boosting their speed and the rocket's agility will help a bit.
Maybe if differing speed of ships it gets bit more balance?

i can't be bothered with arguing...... this mod is suited for player vs NPC's only..... go into PVP, and it gets totally unfair.....
and with these new restrictions on shields? even more so...... now i've been here a few years now, and the amount of times this conversation has come up.... is unbelievable..... and the conclusion is..... its impossible to draw one, as different people will see different parts of the mod as everyone wants something different out of it.
but when it comes to PVP...... i'm not having 2 puny fighters being able to rip apart my ship in a matter of seconds when i spent millions on it and slaved away for for days on end in order to be able to enjoy it.
I witnessed it last night 2 [Phantom] Ravenclaws tore through an Osiris and a Liberty Dreadnaught and it was sad, as they did not kill either fighter once! I think that BSs need to have something done for them.
I cannot speak for GB's or Cruisers as I have no used either of them

The SF has always used liberty and britonian ships, some people will argue that the osiris is a liberty ship.

It acually is if you played the campaign it was constructed in a joint effort by the Liberty Security Force and Liberty Navy, stolen by the Order and used by them wich I assume the order sold one to the corsairs as well so techincally it is a Liberty ship.
Stupid PC can no longer handle the Disco mod.... sutpid PC....
