Ok so it started about 2 days ago. I'm playing freelancer and after a while BOOM sudden shut down. So I try to cu it back on, takes a minute, powers down before startup. I leave it off for about five minutes then try again. Starts up like usual, I continue with my business. then a half an hour passes by it happens again. It does that for the rest of the day. I finally get pissed And do system recovery. I continue next morning play though the whole day and after a few hours it happens again. So I stop for a while. Then later I just play the vanilla game for a half an hour and it does the same ting.
What in the world could be the problem?
BTW It has only happened while I was playing freelancer.
It's off. Reinstalled it and it did the same the following day. I played the vanilla version to day for about a half an hour. But Either the problems gone or I wasn't running long enough for it to happen. Still if you have any suggestions I'm all ears.
Check your system temperature, especcialy the CPU, North-, South-Bridge temperatures...
You can also keep an eye on your Graphics Card GPU.
Those 4 can cause total system shutdowns which is what you are discribing to me.... It just randomly powers down or reboots the system when it gets over a certain threshold temp...
Check all your fans and clear your case of any dust

It happened again about ten minutes ago. But I'l take a look at that. it also makes a bit of noise with the fan constantly. Immediately at system startup and goes on forever I can't even remember quiet because the rooms sounds like there's an AC running. I'll take a look at that. BTW is there any way to change the shut down setting? As in raise the temp in which it's supposed to shut off?
Yes you could do that, but i wouldnt unless you are absolutely 100% sure it isnt your CPU temp. dont know if you can change the north-southbridge temp settings though

I took the motor (I think it was) apart (took the panel off) and wiped as much dust from all areas (especially the fans). Now it's as quiet as it was back when I first got it. I haven't played FL yet but I'll see what happens. On another note., while I was fixing around I noticed a red switch (in the back on the motor) that had two numbers on it "115 (the one it was switched to)" and "230". Any Ideas?
I got speed fan it seems to show my comp temp is about 68-72c I and my fans speed was a little over 4000 RPM and for the second 3000 RPM what else could I do to help this (also some advice with the vid card)
BTW It's summer in New York so it's a little hotter now.
