I'd just like to see each ship have a more defined role, really.
Right now battlecruisers/battleships are good against everything, and really have few weaknesses. Even bombers have a tough time taking them out due to the sheer firepower a battleship commands.
On the flip side, gunboats are effective against nothing (with a few exceptions *cough*BH gunship*cough*). They're not great against fighters as they lack the agility to keep up with them. They're not great against capships as they lack the firepower to do any real damage to them. They're not great against bombers - who both out-manuever most gunboats as well as have more firepower.
no...no tracking shell for Battleship's main battery.....because it's long range and speed is for surprise attack.and some time for artillery fire support..and Battleship shell is not torpedo..should not have tracking ability...
slow down the turret turning speed would make the turret harder to hit target at close range because the turret is so heavy...so no need to slow down shell's speed........
The primary thing I noticed in the links jinx posted was projectile travel speed.
Those machine guns and lasers had almost instant travel time from the firing ship to the target, even over longer ranges. High travel speed means the shot cannot be dodged easily.
Right now, even at very close ranges, it's a pain in the ass trying to hit a dodging fighter in a capship because they can get out of a shot's way before it reaches them. At long distances, you'd be lucky to hit another battleship without it dodging your fire.
6000-10000 m/s travel speed severely reduces the enemy's ability to dodge your fire, and for 'flak' or 'point defense' cannons it would be the best route to go - weapons that have extremely high travel speed, but lower refire rate and damage. They'd be very difficult or even impossible for fighters/bombers to dodge, but would be ineffective against larger ships.
Tic you are getting a bit on the uber side there...
@Tenacity.. GBs useless against anything? uhh... get loadout with same speed, and 2 missiles and you will rape fighters. Get 2 GBs with same loadout.. and you will rape Cruisers. (even with 4 turrets each), they CAN dodge cruiser fire if they keep distance, and the one that is being fired upon can dodge fire, while the other one hits.

Well that is the point of battleships. To be uber. It is the ultimate warmachine, it isnt supposed to be taken
out by a couple of bombers. Not even todays BB can be taken out like that, since they have secondary
and tertiary hulls.

2000m/s speed(so it cant be easyly destroyed)
Would be great for fast takeing out of enemy main guns.
such heavy gun with 4.0 re-fire rate? no way! .(the heavyier the gun it is..the slower the gun it turns..and the slower the re-fire rate it is..but the shell has faster speed because the gun is so powerful_...and i dont want to let energy usage to limit the possible of weapon combinations....it sucks.....
