Wait... "Discovery is a roleplay server".

Flying into Sun is pure RP right?

Until now I was under the impression that NEMPs - as well as SciData and anything related - are supposed to be rare. When did that change?

On the subject of /suicide or similar commands: Afaik it was considered, perhapse was even implemented at a point, but then was discarded/removed due to being a potential tool for sanctionlancer. Imagine you are about to pirate someone but in between stopping him and issuing the demand the guy just self destructs in front of you, only to report you for PvP abuse later on. I however can see green messages (like the F1 or dock lines) being a solution to that.

That's why I am totally against creating situations in which you are practically forced to do exactly that.
Thank you for strengtening the criticism of the jump-tactics.

That doesn't remove the fact that the JDs are intended to work offensively. How about you offer something constructive instead of screaming 'remove'? How would you make them work, Jack, if you don't believe they are fine currently.

Can you perhaps for once not think about the base in Delta about every possible ***** that can be pulled legally in sieges, etc etc... but step back... look at what the 2 methods do to group fights, and how they negatively affect gameplay on Disco in general?

Look at the complete picture in general terms.
And if you then - after doing this - tell me that you are still fine with these tactics, I rest my case and will just accept that there are some who just do not understand that gameplay considerations are larger than any single player's egoistic interest.

You're making use of the scenario last night to instrumentalize, Jack. I don't give a damn whether you think I'm wrong in your opinion which is based on a scenario that happened last night, the one that you're referencing. That being said, I prefer to think about every possible stars that can be pulled legally in sieges, other than certain people of the opposing side that don't even care about what they do illegally. ಠ‿↼

I personally got abducted and it was fine. The only problematic thing is that some systems have no jump holes back to normal space, and that the blind jumps have a very high inaccuracy that could be easily lowered to 50K without any regrets. I'm also fine with NEMPs are right now, however I think they would have been better when people needed to RP the NEMP construction. I was pretty much the only person that did that. Right now, NEMPs are spammed left and right. Is it good? Maybe. I'd actually take a unique Borderworld ship and make it the only ship being able to use NEMPs, open to all factions. A freighter or SHF or big bomber. So people know who has the NEMP, since people seem to be unable to target, F9 and use the subsystem scanner to find out what has what loadout. In big messy battles: Your own fault. In big messy battles however you have plenty of ships being able to intercept the payload. You also have enough ships that can cruise out. It's like I described earlier.

You're butthurt, you said it yourself. Calm down, take a sandwich and think about how you might not end up NEMPed next time.

I am not against current JD's tho. I would advise you to get a sandwich because I support Sombra and Foxglove here. There are counters to each of these equipments and just because you are lazy to buy them doesn't mean we will nerf everything.

Really?
Wait... "Discovery is a roleplay server".

Selfkill option?
Respawn option?
Really?

Disco is already roleplay-mega-light.
Do we really want to push the credibility aspect further back and focus on using the gameplay mechanics that makes little sense anyway even more excessively? - I think: no.

P.S. I did not die.

Why can't you take being jumped away inRP then?

A good start would be to remove the capability to use JD and cloak at the same time.
When you see a ship approaching, you can at least act somehow.
Right now, if you do it correctly, it looks like:

> Invis ship uses the chaos to fly in
> jump 2-5 ships out to a max painful position (chosen purely by gameplay mechanisms)
> jumper stays cloaked (never any chance to actually do anything)
> jumper keeps watching the jumped out players while cloaked so that they cannot suicide or selfkill (screening for blue message + pvp death against group)
> jumper then suicides himself
> respawns and does it all again.

If cloaks did not work with JD, the jumpship would find itself in a fight to the death in a place it jumped the people to, or would at least have to cruise away - killing off the cancerous "guarding for blue message" part that aims almost directly at sanctionlancing. It would also reduce the troll-aspect because the jumper would actually be in danger and there would actually be a chance to die in it.

what about a rule that the jumper cannot suicide himself or something?

but jack also.... cloaking wont last that long. at one point you will uncloak.

Also a jumper fight to the death is actually suicide. Sorry but no one will do that. I died in 10 seconds when i tried.
