Being the head dev aswell as head admin in charge would be even better, but I could already begin to make discovery greater by being a mod.

This community needs mods that DO, not mods that DON'T. There seems to be a consistent pattern in recruitment where ultimately, at least half of the recruited pool don't pull their weight, dumping stress and workload on the rest of the team. This isn't a call to recruit people that want an orange name and a title to go with it, but for people who genuinely care about Discovery and want to help out.

It needs people who are maybe looking at a spot on the admin team, but not for their own personal ambitions but because they want to eventually incite positive change and make a difference.

Mods should be picked based on their merits and how many times they have shown helpfulness and selflessness in the community. They should be popular not because they post the dankest memes within their circlejerks, but because they're an actually likable individual.

So pick wisely, admins and community. It's a turbulent time for the community. Discovery needs heroes.

Sadly, by default I think I'd be eliminated from the runnings, whether I'm on Probation or not.

I'd rather have the opposite, even if they're controversial. Controversy didn't prove to be a problem anyways as we have/had 2 admins that were permabanned. Of course controversy alone (hello Dimon!) means nothing, common sense and good personal judgment/decision making come first.

Having that in mind, here my suggestions (and no, i cant for multiple reasons, main one being i can help more helping noobs ingame, than being plus one on forum)

@SMI-Great.Fox

@"Sand_Spider"

@Zyliath

I'll throw my hat into the ring, but knowing the mass amount of guff going on, I'll probably be better off throwing other names out.

So I'll just throw this out there and say 'browses, helps and gives gut cyber'.

Oh, he's still here running IMG|. Doubt he'll have much time for Mod duties, though.

I personally would strongly advise to not vote for official faction leaders or those who want to be. It might work with those who are already mods, but if there is one thing the community shouldn't have more of it is people who have more influence/power/priviledges than necessary. I say that less about factual abuse of power but about the fact that it can easily interpreted as such. It can easily look suspicious and create more distrust between the different stages of staff members and community.

That's just my opinion, though, seeing how any official faction leader suggested so far has been or can be accused of powerplays already.

On the other hand, it shows their dedication and commitment to community. Most of the times, these leaders are reasonable and experienced within community.

Or would you rather have some random come-and-go type of moderator that is here for the "power" rather than duty?

I'd rather have faction leaders stop pretending inRP assets are their ooRP toys and focus more on motivating their own people to log instead. There is really a plenty of people who both haven't been probated yet while also aren't in a leading position of an official faction or of a dev department. One doesn't need to be a leader to show commitment, which is why I suggested the people I suggested. The more 'power' is divided within all parts of the community, the better it is, in any case.

There are experienced and reasonable people who are not exclusively faction leaders, so your defined criteria is not accurate. I subscribe to Sombra's idea of picking people as neutral as possible. We do not require biased perspectives, for we have experienced them enough.

Rudimentary creatures of blood and flesh, you touch my mind, fumbling in ignorance, incapable of understanding.
