Iv seen a Junker flying a Bounty Hunter Gunboat around New York, his RP excuse is that he stole it from a Bounty Hunter decommisioning base. Im wondering if people can use a RP excuse to use factions ships that there faction could never obtain.

If it is allowed, then where does it stop? Can people then Fly Liberty Battleships with Outcast tags and say they magicaly nicked it from the Liberty navy?

most unlikely the BHG gives their warships to anyone but the BHG. they are at open war with the order and their ships are as precious as bretonian ships are for the BAF or kusari ships are for the KNF. - while a junker may be able to salvage a shipwreck, you can be sure that it won t fly anymore ( hence, its only scrap metal and not a ship )

the BHG will make sure they leave nothing laying around that can be used in the war. - besides, junkers and BHG are not best buddies and any BHG worth his money will blow him up if he sees him, cause its an affront to the BHG.

other than that, its possible to fly other factions ships... of course. but it should involved more careful planning than "i stole it" - and a bit more communication with the core players of the factions. i don t mean to get their permission as they cannot really allow or disallow it, but to get their blessing anyway - or they may consider you hostile.

but as allways, if the RP fits, he can fly anything, even a liberty dreadnaught or a rheinland battleship. there is no rule saying he cannot.

edit: the fantasia is a bretonian battleship under outcast command. so yes, its possible to be outcast and fly a liberty dreadnaught., too

Your imagination sets the limit, really... You must have a pretty damn good backround story written down here on the forums though.

After they get killed they can't fly their ship anymore because it's been destroyed.

Anything I say is not intended as offensive, and to try and deliberately misinterpret it as such would be an attempt at trolling via misrepresentation.

It's not a conspiracy, it's localised bias. They're not intelligent enough to form a conspiracy.

There are some examples of ship stealing, afterall Osiris and Spyglass were stolen from Liberty. So these are two classic stealing examples that went down in histroy.

So if someone whizes around in your own faction gunboat, sticking on an enemy flag, ask yourself, what would a Navy commander do if he spoted a Spyglass or an Osiris? Surtenly he wouldn't discuss the tearms on wich it was taken from the bay. They would discuss the tearms for surrender...

The "I stole it" excuse goes nowhere above gunboats (check the sanction threads) and for gunboats on down you can prepare for sanctions unless you setup suitable RP for it- usually this works with defection and actually playing the character as the people he defected from first. At that point, you can point to a serious background rather than a vague concept, and very few will stop you. Then again, there was a notable example where someone posted an RP thread about "The theft of a Liberty Assault Battlecruiser". Within about five seconds there was nice green admin text replying with a definite "NO." Gunboats have little enough crew that you can convince them to follow you. Fighters are loosely guarded enough that you can run like hell from the hanger, especially if it was your fighter in the first place (see Wesley Richter, one of zapp's stories). Everything else is guarded way too heavily, attracts too much attention when it goes anywhere, and/or has enough crew that someone would put a bullet to your head and commandeer the ship back home.

Notable exception goes to Mon'Star, whose established RP (confirmed by admin evidence of Terrorist ID) enabled him to board an Outcast Destroyer, then slaughter his way through the entire crew, and "replace" them with his pet experimental AI, Psi-borg. Keep in mind this person at one point got ~5% of Sirius killed off by a nice little plague thingie he worked early in his "career" as a psychopathic murderer. This stuff isn't exactly out of the norm for him, and he is easily the ONE exception to stolen ships.

Oh wait, Prospector flies a Liberty Gunboat. He's got a terrorist ID too, see if you can find the stories.

I remember when I defected on my Ross.Polo char, I was flying a Lane Hacker Gunship at the time and I got warned for doing it, so at times it can be pretty ****ed up if admins feel like going on warn/fine/banhammer spree.

My excuse was defected to Faction only recently and then noobs reported me for doing it even though I was going to change soon.

It was like "CHANGE NAO" only not like that but "Change your ship". Some people are incredibly impatient about you defecting gradually.

Junkers dont really steal ships, it's not how we operate.

If he said he had salvaged the ship, and had an rp story posted to explain it, then it'd be ok. A lot of junkers use faction ships (though not usually warships, we have no real enemies other than xenos/hogosha) with that background.

Hell, even my firefly transport was 'salvaged' by my junker team, and it's a very common ship for junkers.

People can and quite often do use ships that aren't of their faction. Some classic examples include Fantasia and Mon'Star. No doubt we all atleast know of them. If you can come up with a damned good RP reason and truly play it out, all should be fine.

I, for example, recently posted the story of The Positron. It's a LR tagged and IFF'd Guardian. One thing i'd advise you to do is talk to the faction you're "stealing" it from and talk to the admins about it.

UMM i would say HELL NO! To become a junker you "NEED" to killBH's, or get a junker bribe that will make you hostile to BH's. Almost all junker mission's are to kill BH's. Mission's given out on junker base's by outcast's/hessien's/corsair's are to kill BH's mostly. So this " I stole it " BS will not make admin's happy since it is to ooRP. If my junker guard char who has been warn'd by admin's for flying alot more RP ship's then a BH GB ever see's this guy, I will blow him to hell and back as a BH spy.
I was sanction'd for using a Blood dragon GB, which is alot more RP then a BH GB.
A junker in a BH ship, is like a corsair in a sabre. Yes it is possible, but it is not RP with out 1 hell of a story behind it.:nono::nono::nono:
