Actually I hardly disagree with this thing its pointless cuz if you want loot boxes please go play Dark Orbit... In my opinion usefull update would be
-Graphic Update
-Cockpit update (instrumental table, holo radar https://imgur.com/a/ZAHU4
-Personalizzed logo on ship like battlestar galactica has it, color + logo(if officialdom faction)
-maybe only cockpit view for snubs for more realistic fights and flying in cooperation with cockpit update

Where is that screen shot from? Thats amazing.
On the other notes:
Graphics now are leagues ahead of what they were in vanilla. I am quite happy, and short of a full HD Texture pack I doubt we will see something any better.
Personalized Logos for ships to my knowledge are not possible at this time. Due to Lib Dread just being the same model. Now you can srp a Unique texture, thats not impossible, it requires a lot more work than "I Spray painted this"
As of right now to pvp in cokcpit view is nigh suicidal because (I think) you turn slower in cockpit view vs in 3rd person. I may be wrong but it definitely seems slower.

Well if you take a look on screenshot it does show very improved graphic, by the way its take from freelancer cockpit searched on google I dont know what kind of mode is it but it improves both graphic and cockpit.
If logos arent possible atm I dont have any cons about eliminate that .
Cockpit view would be nice add in my opinion for snubs and I dont think it affect turn rate of ships or anything else since most people use preturn by Z + X it would just help on focusing on single target and its much more realistic.
I think all those little things together can improve very much game and interest of players since it stimulate realism of game

About this cockpit, well, it's PS editing. I doubt, that it can be made with the game engine.
