"Yea, I hear ya....but these days the game seems less like backroom poker among friends and more like a high stakes game of `Blind Mans Bluff´and if you are sitting around the card table, wondering who the mark is, the mark is probably you." He took another drink. "Anyways, I would not feel right about it, if I did not give you chance to back out."

"That's one way of seein' it I guess, so long as you're on your toes." Jimmy dabbed the smoldering remains of his cigar into the tray and picked up his glass in toast "Here's to livin' long enough to regret it all, yeah?" He said smirking.

Gambit stood up from his chair and leaned in to touch his glass to Jimmy's. " Sounds like a good plan." He said as he finished off the whiskey that was left in his glass. " Well, I wont take up any more of your time Jimmy, thanks for the sit down and the info on your contact, and, if ya know of anyone needing anything I got, you get a cut of the take if a deal goes through." He picked up his things and started to head to the door. "I am going to make my way to the bar and see what my crew is up to, but we will probably get underway soon, and thanks again for doing an old man a solid."

Jimmy drained his glass in concert with Frank "I've always got my ears on, if I hear anythin' I'll show 'em your way and likewise eh? As for the solid, forget about it" he said turning his palms to the ceiling "it's all just good business."

Collecting up the displayed weapons on the desk as Frank headed out the door, Jimmy called out "Take it easy Frankie!"

Ted once again entered Jimmy's office, finding it much the same as his earlier visits. "I'll just help myself to a drink before we start eh?" Ted chuckled to himself and poured a drink before settling into one of the many chairs around the room. "You said something about third times the charm? Who are we going to try to curse this time? The President of Liberty?" Ted burst out laughing.

"No point Ted, them political types sell their souls to the devil" Jimmy said snapping a briefcase full of explosives shut "they ain't got nothin' to curse." He helped himself to the bottle "But yeah, I ain't got a damn clue. All my contacts have dried up and not a whisper of a deal has graced this desk" throwing back his first drink, Jimmy poured another "its like we've gone back in time."

Ted again chuckled and swirled his drink. "I'm not doing to well myself. In fact." Ted downed the rest of his drink and stood for another. "About the only steady credits I got flowing in are from Lou's commissions aboard the Wraith Holme. Outside of that, kinda hit and miss." Ted refilled his drink and settled himself once more. "So what are we going to do about it."

Jimmy leaned back into his chair "I honestly ain't sure, things have shifted around so much that I ain't got a handle on nothin.' He turned slightly to gesture out the window "you see all this? I ain't got a damn clue about any of it. No chit-chat, no messages, nada. They just do what the hell they want with no respect for the ones who got all this rollin' and now I got some uppity zoner askin' for the damn station back, like we were just borrowin' it!"

He snorted in indignation. Turning his chair back to face Ted he continued "This was supposed to be our deal, our slice of the pie and now we ain't even asked about nothin'! Well I ain't standin' for it. Now I already gave that zoner mook an earful for not knowin' the Pack so that just leaves the mess out there" he jabbed a thumb behind him. "For that, we got a couple of options; We stay put and try to get things back to how they should be, we move our hardware to the fallback and leave this joint to crumble or we get hell outa dodge and find somewhere else to make our own."

Ted frowned slightly at his drink. "If the rumors in the bar are true we have little chance of winning any sort of concessions from the strong arms of the system." pausing for a moment to take a drink he continued. "Don't get me wrong, I think the place is in a great location, but given what I've seen of our." Ted made some air-quotes in front of himself. "Guardians, I don't think they are interested in anything outside of themselves, greedy little bastards." Ted grinned and added "Not that I can blame them. We aren't really in a position to threaten them in any sort of capacity."

Ted again frowned, this time scratching slightly at his lip, he looked uncomfortable. "Jimmy, I know we have joked in the past about holding the course and making people see our way...but this isn't the cross I want to die on, you feel me?" Ted took another drink "I'm not seeing a whole lot of opportunity where we are."

"I get'cha Ted" Jimmy replied with a nod "these mooks only listen if you've got a fleet of battleships pointed at 'em. Sure we got respect of the Unioners but that ain't gonna get us far." After a moments pause he drew a data chip from his top pocket and inserted it into the computer, the middle of his desk burst life displaying the entire Sirius sector in minute detail. "This here is the entire sector as I've seen it with every jumphole and base I've come across. 'Course the deep omicrons aren't here but I never figured those squids would make good clients anyhow."

Cracking his usual smirk, he turned to Ted "So like you said, who'd you wanna to curse next?"
