Bering is looking to be a good example of a pvp-contested zone with a high risk, high reward commodity. Copper Ore mining in Kansas, on the other hand, is a relatively low-risk mining area, since it's so secluded (*Sigh* R.I.P. Denver sale point).

Personally, I'd rather not have every single mining area as a pvp-hotspot. I'm usually happy to pay off a pirate that comes asking for credits, or even a share of the ore. Bering on the other hand looks to be primed towards a very hostile environment, one which will interest the PvP-inclined. It may not be something I choose to participate in every night, but it'll be something different and new to dip my toes into.

Kansas? Its was a lunchroom for outcasts and indie pirates Big Grin And, i can say this sort of HAZARD do nothing interesting, because miners just dont give care about pirates, because they always mine MORE profit then pirate can interrupt. If area contested? Build da PoB, secure area by caps, fasta mine in 2 people until PoB not full, work done. I not understand which sort of activity you are want get from this, and how it would be different from what we have now.

That "POB workaround" that guarantees safety has to be dealt with.
It runs contrary to what mining zones, activity hot spots and centralised & streamlined mining systems should provide.

I personally make it a point not to instantly dock and hide on a base built smack dab inside of a mining field. It's not good sportsmanship, in my eye.

I used to be principled against even supplying such a PoB, but when your time played per day is less than 15 minutes... What choice do I have? I figure I'll count on my own sense of integrity and prevent myself from docking the moment I see a pirate approaching. It's not fair to them, and it's doing myself a dis-service by passing up a perfect chance for some RP. I like to pay pirates, because their profit:time ratios are usually terrible.

Nah, you are not understand. Purpose of PoB - do mining fasta, and involve indie solo miners in it, and help traders and miners from diffirent timezones play their game. Im use PoB in texas in manner - fast mining with friend to full PoB. After this distribute it by another traders from my station. Solo miners just keep some level of fill, but they never enough for wide trade. And how i know, all profitable PoBs around mining commoditys uses in completely same manner. Its how freel economical work today. Activity hot spots on mining fields its only for solo pirates, for any pirate group more easy camp commodity streams.

I mean, i use PoB for do boring rock shooting as fast as i can, and start do another activity. Also it offer sell/buy points to traders. All people who want play miner RP play it already, Other dont make any RP for miners, even if you put them between swarms of enemy, they just continue do hegemon and fast PoB mining.

No problem with that if that POB is not in the mining field but 10+ k away from it.

>Mining must not be done by anyone but mining-centered factions
>Mining must not be done solo
>Mining must not be more profitable than trading

So is it intended to be reworked as a monopoly strictly for organized groups inside mining factions without any upsides?
