The Asai Clan is the direct descendent of another powerful clan within the Blood Dragons, Augus Clan. Augus Clan was one of the main clans wresting for power within the Daimyo court of the Blood Dragons. It was founded by Yatoji Augus after being recognised for his skills and specialisation within the scientific fields. Among this, Yatoji Augus had a distinct focus for logistics, administration, and reconnaissance, preferring the more prepared approach.
Augus Clan, under the leadership of Yatoji Augus, continued to be the sole provider of technological advancements and research, outside of Kyoto, to the Blood Dragon forces. The clan's history made it suspect when it first appeared, and certain members of the Shogunate were sceptical - but have since been proven otherwise due to the results brought about by Augus Clan.
However, the clan was not always lead by Yatoji Augus. Near the start of 825 A.S. - "Civil Strife" was initiated by one of the adopted daughters of the clan, a young girl known as Sakuri Augus. Sakuri Augus made her claim upon Sendai station and the seat of power currently being held by Yatoji. Rather than sheding the blood of fellow Dragons, the two agree to a fair an honourable duel, the victor would claim the seat of power and control over Augus Clan forces.
The duel was a decisive win in favour of Sakuri Augus who, after her victory, began to change and shape the clan in her own image. She was extremely ambitious and thorough, attempting to claim as much space and power as she could to empower her clan and herself. However, in the middle of April, 825A.S., she disappeared without a trace.
This dissapperence was viewed upon by the Shogunate as a disloyal and dishonourable action, that has reflected badly upon Augus clan on the whole. For a short time, the members of Augus clan became Daimyoless rōnin. During this time, it was looking bleak for the future of Augus clan as without leadership or governance, it was only a matter of time before the clan scattered. This is where Hiro Asai entered the scene.
Hiro Asai rallied the clan under a new banner, one of his own name. This clan was to become the direct successor to Augus and inherit all of the assets and power the former Daimyo's had worked towards. Daimyo Asai worked to leave a mark on the Blood Dragons, and he was detestably more ambitious than the former leadership that Augus was run under.
Short Term Objectives
Erase all traces of dishonour left over from Augus clan.
Form new connections with the existing clans, deciding upon friends and foes.
Secure a presence in the Gallic systems in order to enlist help from the Gallic outlaws.
Finish all projects assigned to the old Augus.
Long Term Objectives
Fortify the Sendai Bulwark.
Push Blood Dragon efforts into Gallia.
Purge all unaligned clans.
Push towards a united Dragon state with the Asai reining over the Shogunate.
Do not dwell in the past, do not dream of the future, concentrate the mind on the present moment.
